What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

I'm thankful for my baby granddaughter, Andrina. My son and his wife said they never wanted children, but after 7 years, they changed their minds. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

What little thing am I thankful for? Finding money in my coat pocket from the winter before. That and the coupon you left in your wallet on an off chance you'd use it and you *do*.

I am thankful for being so blessed as to know and learn from Julian Szmidt, my water polo coach who passed away this Halloween. He was a great coach with tons of hilarious, sarcastic, snarky comeback which I think that you, Jen, would have loved. I am thankful for knowing him and learning form him, both in water polo and life.

I'm so very grateful to live with a husband and daughter who never forget the importance of a sense of humor. We were able to laugh our way through a 5 day blackout this month and that's not nothin'.

I am thankful for my new baby nephew!

I might be disqualified for this, but I've never been very good at following rules. I won't be sharing one little thing I'm thankful for, but three things of varying size.

1. I am grateful to be part of a family that is as wacky as I am. So wacky that we had
a wedding for our ducks yesterday.

2. I am thankful that you made it safely out of Texas, I mean back home to Florida. (I am not sucking up to win a book. I am not! I'm already disqualified for breaking the rules, remember?)

3. I am delighted beyond reasonable measure that the "Going to Disney to see Cinderella" cake is for a 21 year old!

I'm thankful for cameras.
Without them, my best friend wouldn't be able to send me pictures of his new baby boy, My mother wouldn't be able to see the work i'm doing here in the middle east , and millions of cakes would have their wreckiness go to waste without ever having been able to be shared here on cake wrecks.com!

I am thankful for people who can make a joke, take a joke and flourish in doing what they are meant to do. I am a college professor and I am always astounded at the way they overcome anxieties and self doubt in order to put themselves out there. I am thankful for their courage to be themselves- even if they end up as professional Wreckerators!

November 20, 2011 | Unregistered CommenterJennD

Totally thankful for Cake Wrecks helping me feel better about my decorating abilities. As an apprentice, this site make me laugh, and cry and occasionally snort things out of my nose. But more than that, *Sorry, Jen. Not my number 1* I'm thankful for my beautiful kids who inspire me everyday to get up and keep moving on. And thankful for Jesus. He's a cool guy. :)
