What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

I am thankful for good food on the table... but mostly for the people who sit around that table! Husband, daughter, sons, daughter-in-law!
I am thankful for good parents... and for the freedoms we enjoy in this great country.
I am thankful for good health and for sunrises. I could go on and on!

I am thankful: 1. I am an American girl so I could get an education. 2. I have a daddy who did not teach me I could not do things just because I was a girl. 3. I still have the luxury of learning from a daddy who wants to teach me how to do things and 4. I have the most wonderful two dogs asleep on my feet (well, one on each foot). AND as a bonus I am glad Jen and John made it through the Cakewrecks tour without any calamaties or ER visits!

Happy thanksgiving America! As a proud Canadian who celebrated thanksgiving last month, I can certainly tell you I'm very thankful for one small thing. That would be my dreams. Since my brother and mom passed away a few years ago, missing them can get very upsetting. However, sometimes my dreams bring them back even just for a little while. I get to see them again, hug and talk with them and sometimes they give me messages. I know this is just my subconscious wanting them around, but it leaves me feeling warm and loved by people I will only see again in the next life.

I am thankful for my autistic brother who teaches me to enjoy life, no matter what, to laugh and ignore the stares that come with "being different". I am thankful for my son who teaches me to go full steam ahead, to follow every question to an answer, to turn an "I wonder" into an "ah-ha"! I am thankful to my parents who teach me what unconditional love means, that gentle teasing is another way to say "I love you very much". I am thankful for my cat who teaches me that snuggling is the best thing when you are feeling down and that there is always time for a nap.
