What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Name It & Maim It

It's Celebrate Your Name Week, minions, and while every name is beautiful, some are more... shall we say... entertaining than others.

Isn't that right, Grandma?

That Christy, always acting so holier-than-thou:

Though I'm jealous she got Slimer to make her a cake. Venkman, quick! Get a sample! (Maybe two samples for me...)

When the baker keeps going, just for the 'ell of it:

That, or to center justify the text?

Oooh, if that's the reason I'm going to be SO IMPRESSED.

This one hits a little close to home:

There are approximately 8 billion of us Jennifers out here. Clearly we need to mobilize.

Of course some names hardly bear repeating.

Others... do?

And finally, a poem.
Because I AM going to name names.

Ahem hem hem.

To think that I should never see
A face palm more worthy than thee
For this is their spelling
And what they are selling
To the man named Marc with a "C":

Thanks to Brandie H., Anony M., Patricia L., Renee P., Rikki B., & Marc A. for C'ing what they did there.

“harc! harc! a cark!”

that last one is a top ten all-time face palm. still laughing...

That last one’s a real shame, because that’s some fancy handwriting.

That “Cark” cake is simply beautiful. Too bad they messed up the spelling.

Why is the wreck so much more tragic when the handwriting is so beautiful? Looking at you, Clark.

Since Jen stole my shtick, I have no option but to respond in kind.

There once was a baker whose spelling
Was so off the mark, it was telling.
They turned Marc with a "C"
Into Cark. But then see
They were caught by their own Michelle-elling

I don't know, looks like a "Jerrifer" to me.

"Great. Someone blows their nose and you want a sample"
"Egon: Your mucous"

Jen- Looks like the Jennifer and Jonathan cookie "cake" reads JERRIFER to me.
Not enough humps in those cursive letters to be and n!

“Happy Birthday Greadnom” reminds me of “Happy Falker Satherhood”!

Everyone feast your eyes on the Cark cake because we’ll never see a prettier written Cark than that. Lovely script there.... and they even threw in an exclamation point for no extra charge(!)

I loved that last cake it was so pretty til they had that horrid misspelling adventure. Poor Marc lol.

Okay, I've got the northern flank covered. Jerrifers unite!

Maybe Mark with a “c” was really suppose to be Carl and when looking at their fine work the decorator thought back to Kindergarten and realized that in order for l l to look like an H you have to connect them with a little line but they had a gigantic sneeze and the line got added to the wrong l....So funny!

March 10, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterRobin P

Oh, come on. It isn’t Mark with a C. It’s Carl with a K!
