What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

I'm super impressed that you guys had that exact phone that was on not one, but two wrecks!

First two cakes - Somewhere over the rainbow? If these are rainbows, I'd hate to see how they'd mangle the unicorns.
Second two cakes - These bakers are just a bunch of phone-ies.
Third two cakes - Sorry, Bob and Larry. I can't resist.

Oh, why use an airbrush?
Oh, why use an airbrush?
Oh, why, oh, why, oh, why, oh, why...use an airbrush?

Looks like John's "Blue Steel" is coming along nicely.

Mike, Thanks for the Silly Songs with Larry reference!

I'm with Heather--the phone in the junk drawer magically appearing on not one, but two cakes was impressive.
…Or did you buy the cakes to get the phone? Curious.

Also, I'm not sure why, but John's blindfolded selfies caused me to giggle. It's been a long day. Thank you for the extra amusement.

I am dying of laughter here. I just picture the wreckerators decorating blindfolded and possibly drunk as well and looking at these I could be right lol.

You missed a step in technique A - 'make sure the colours look hideous together'.

I've got to agree with Jen on this one -- duck lips is definitely the better selfie.

BBF = Best Behavior Friend. It is a friend who you have to filter your language/behavior/energy level around because they're nice and all but they just can't handle you unfiltered. Despite knowing this, I have a hard time giving the decorator the benefit of the doubt after all the cakes I've seen on this site.

Is that Blue Steel?
