September 8, 2016 Last weekend Jen and I got to meet Karen Prell and Brian Henson, and it was beyond amazing. I say this both to brag (WE MET KAREN PRELL AND BRIAN HENSON YOU GUYS) and to explain why I have Muppets on the brain.
(Btw, "Muppets On The Brain" is the name of my Lady Gaga cover band.)

My two favourite Muppet memories, Mahna Mahna and the Yip Yips! Well, that made my day. The cakes... not so much.

FWIW, my almost 2 year old recognized the first Elmo and subsequent Cookie Monsters....but maybe because that's about how they look when she or her preschooler brother draw them. Hahahaha!

Fun fact: The Mahna Mahna song was originally featured in an Italian soft-core film about Swedish girls.
I didn't really see the cakes the first time through because I was scrolling in time with the song (which I was heartily singing inside my head!)

So cake #4...To quote an awesome movie, "Dear God, what is that thing?" And, may I just add that whoever made it had amazing grip strength to cover a cake with a line piping tip is super hard work?

#7 may be a mess as Elmo, but the care taken with the red frosting skin/pelt shows great control of frosting! It looks like someone crocheted it for LOHITH AKSHAY.

If I wasn't concerned about my claustrophobia acting up, I'd so totally do a YipYip cosplay. Hmm, personal fan inside maybe? Time to brainstorm. Oh and actually ommit to going to a con so I can do it.

I confess, my first thought on seeing the header was "Muppet doo-doo? Wouldn't that just be lint?"
But then, of course--Mahna Mahna, one of my very favorites! Poor Cookie's eyes in that last cake, yikes...
The Yip-Yip elevator is the best thing ever! It even beats the Bay to Breakers Yip-Yip marathoners' costumes I saw once in a photo (the thought of running in all that velour, what dedication)!

You always have me in stitches with your cake commentary, but I have to say this is one of my faves. I love the Muppets and was certainly singing along. I think I nearly choked with laughter at the Elmo cake with the flower candle precariously positioned over his nether regions :D I'm wondering if the baker put it there or whether it was added later... either way, hilarious!
I love you guys more and more every day.
