Geek Life, Cake Style

A few times a year John and I go to commune with Our People at local sci-fi and comic conventions. This weekend is one of the big ones here in Orlando, so we've been feverishly finishing up a new costume to wear - because yes, we're THOSE kinds of geeks.
Of course you're just here for cake pictures, though... so here's a cakey hint at what our costume's going to be:
It reminds me of the babe. And Christmas tinsel.
And since I've got geekdom on the brain, here's a Missed Mark for you Doctor Who fans:
OoooOOoooo
AAAAIIEEEEEEEEE!
And one for Batman:
This must be after Superman beat him up.
Sorry to break it to you, Avengers fans, but it turns out Thor is a real heel:
You are not worthy to lift his... HAMMERTOE.
But hey, at least he's got sole.
(I think the baker did it just for kicks. It's a shoe-in for "weirdest cupcake," don't you think?)
For you classic comic fans, here's Batman giving Robin the wedgie of the century:
"Sweet spandex-strangling sausages, Batman, that stings!"
And let us never forget:
I have been, and shall always be, mortally offended by this cake. [glare]
But to end on a happy note, allow me to present wrecky minion Melissa P.'s daughter, along with the birthday cake she specifically requested:
Princess Hulk.
Now THAT is a Hulk "smash" cake, y'all. AND I APPROVE.
Thanks to Tiffani W., Joe H., De C., Sarah B., Leah S., Wendy D., & Melissa P. for raising The Next Generation just right. And hey, see some of you at MegaCon this weekend!

"Starprise Entership" BHWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! Hilarious.
Love, love, LOVE the last one.
The Starprise Entership has to be an intentional joke, right? Nobody could botch it up like that.....
Aw no fair leaving out Star Wars.
I love Melissa P's daughter's cake.
That Starprise Entership cake had to be spelt that way on purpose, right? It has to be some inside joke.
You probably knew this, but in the comics, Thor is a woman now. So those shoes would be perfect for her!
Love Princess Hulk! I'd want one for my birthday, but as someone who is considerably . . . vintage, I doubt I could get away with it. I'll settle for one that's not a Wreck.
WTF is up with that Batman cake?
What you never heard of a spoonerism? I find it hard to believe Starprise Entership wasn't done on purpose.
I'm guessing the "Starprise Entership" is some sort of in-joke with the recipient of the cake. It's no less funny, though!
Melissa's daughter wins!!
LOVING that batman cake... whether the outline is accurate or not, I want the piece that has the MOST icing!!!
Now I want a Hulk Princess for my birthday. That cake is brilliant.
OMG that last cake is hysterical XD and the starprise entership must have made the eyes of all trekkies twitch O_o
I love the Starprise Entership. It has to be an intentional spoonerism. My family would joke around like that daily with words. *Sniff* This cake makes me miss my late father, who was the king of such wordplay.
When I saw the first Dr. Who cake, I thought it was supposed to be the wreck, and I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it.
Yay for Melissa P's daughter and her sense of humor and good taste!!
Robin looks kind of like all his bones have been removed. I can't stop staring!!
There once was a Hulk cake in Pink
Which led the poor creature to think,
"Does icing and flour
Reduce my glower?
Do I need to go visit my Shrink?"
Princess Godzilla and Princess Hulk should have a tea party. That would be epic. And destructive.
Wait, is Robin wearing one of those little maid hat thingies?!
I know I've been visiting Cake Wrecks too long when Starprise Entership sounds like an adult movie title.
Oh my gosh, I want that princess hulk cake for my birthday now! It's amazing!!!
I want that Princess Hulk cake. And my birthday is coming up...
@Melanie: I don't know if it's an in joke, but it's definitely a "Spoonerism"! Maybe they had to eat that one with spoons. =^-.-^=
I have to believe that the Starprise Entership cake was done on purpose, or specifically requested. Like an inside joke cake.
Kind of how, for my husbands next birthday, I think I will get him a cake that says "NO REGERTS" on it, as that is a saying with us, in reference to the tattoos out there that should say no regrets, but say no regerts instead. =) It is a favorite.
However, I have to admit--we have recently come to realize that we should be saying No Regrats. Because we got the phrase from Meet the Millers, and a scene were Jason Sudakis's character is asking a punk with No Regrats tattooed on his chest whether he really had no regrets. No even one? You sure?
But no regrats does not sound nearly as good as no regerts. We've been saying it wrong this long, no need to stop now.
It took me a minute to realize what the Thor cupcakes were supposed to be...I thought they looked more like toilets with Thor's face in the bowl. This is the first time my interpretation of a wreck has been sicker than the commentary...not sure if I should be ashamed or proud.
I think I was at the even with the TARDIS cake. I was too blasted to take pictures of it, but I think I ate some of it. I think. Could be. Memory is a bit hazy.
Considering how difficult it is for Dr. Banner to keep anything other than pants on when he morphs into the Hulk, I think this dress is amazing on so many levels!
Starprise Entership...bwahahahaha!
*picks self up off floor*
I want a Princess Hulk cake now.
I love that hulk princess cake! After showing it to my 6 year old tomboy who has a birthday coming up, she wants one made of either Groot or Natasha. I guess I better start looking for Marvel dolls. I don't get the shoe one though! Don't you think it looks more like a toilet?
The Batman logo always reminds me of a kid who needs braces - badly! I *almost* like the wreck better. Almost, but not quite.
Am I the only one who sees the creepy little guy on Batman's chest?!!!!!!! Holy Hallucinations, Batman!!
Why do Batman and Robin have no legs in addition to having major wedgies?
@Valerie: I'm LMAO - once you see it, you can't unsee it! Thanks for that!
The princess Hulk is from an episode of Super Hero Squad, a younger kids cartoon similar to the Avengers cartoons. In one episode Hulk is given an "infinity crystal" piece and it turns him into princess Hulk in the above dress (one heck of a coincidence if not, because that's precisely what he's wearing). To my memory Hulk (who is something of a simpleton in the cartoon) laughs and declares himself pretty. My kids, both son and daughters, love the Super Hero Squad.
The princess Hulk cake is so cute. The cake with the tinsel and what looks like candles is highly flammable lol. I am surprised no one caught on fire lighting that one and Starprise Entership? Lmao can't stop laughing..
Surely, Starprise Entership was ordered for Falker Satherhood!
I know what's wrong with the "Starprise Entership" cake! It's missing the ship's designation, "NC01-17C" on the picture of the ship!
At last the Hulk comes out of the closet!
The Starprise Entership made me LOL! OMG, how does somebody screw THAT up???
Hulk Smash My Heart
What's worse than a cupcake cake?
A cupcake + ladyfinger + churro cake. With flotsam. Aaaaaaaaaugh.
@ Julie: Probably, but don't call me Shirley. [Loved the throwback to the classic.]
Princess Hulk rulz. Proof that a girl can be ripped and feminine at the same time. Also green. A girl can be anything she wants to! I usually hate the 'dolly varden' style of cake but this one wins for so many reasons.
Starprise Entership is the most amazing thing mine eyes have ever beheld.
