Are You Smarter Than a Wreckerator?

It's American Education Week, friends, so if you'll indulge me, I'd like to take a moment and wax poetical about the world's somewhere-between-17th-and-52nd best education system.
You see, here in the States we learn everything we need in life, from the very basics:
(The difference between an apple and a bell pepper is more advanced.)
...to spelling and punctuation:
...to those oh-so-vital math skills.
We also have more advanced studies of the human, um... whatever this is:
I'm pretty sure that's butt stuff.
Here we're encouraged to keep writting(s?):
...to keep our stars shinning:
...and to always enhance that one student's mind's 2013:
That one's a little confusing, I'll grant you.
Because here in the US we honor our honor stundels:
...encouraging them to Imagin a world where they can Acheive their dreams:
A world where, say, all you have to do is copy little plastic signs for a living.
...from the very beginning of the school year:
...to the bitter(sweet?) end.
Yay.
Thanks to Janel J., Anony M., Kate B., Brittany J., Juli K., Anony M., Linda R.., Rae L., Tanya, Janica C. & Laura B. for the education.

These education posts are depressing...funny, but depressing. SIGH
Holy Buckets, I think these wreckerators need to go back to school! A couple of the cakes/cupcakes were pretty nice (the 1x2 = 3 cupcakes were nicely done and the "shinning stars" cake wasn't the worst we've seen), but the rest, oh dear, oh dear.
This is exactly why we need the Commin Korr.
Sung to "Venus" by Frankie Avalon
Genius, if you will
Please wreck another cake with your great skill
A cake that raises 12C alarms
Your punctuation harms me too.
Genius, if you dare
To multiply when adding would be fair
Your spelling is the butt of jokes, to me
Your "writting's" there for all to see
Genius, saluting our "shinning" stars
Surely it's not a great task
Enhancing the REST of the class
And we'd honor YOU
If you "acheived" the proper spelling, too
The correct form of "to" is what we wish
Your "scholl" makes us just say "ish."
What's more depressing--the mistakes or the fact that there were SO MANY of them for today's post?
I think phycology is accidentally a real word. I think it's the study of mushrooms.
Appropriately, the phycology text appears to be covered with some sort of slimy algae.
After ceeing thees rex, I are now reddy to go teech my student's.
Fortunately, I teach science, so proper spelling and grammar don't matter (ducks and runs to find Theardare). ;)
There's so much pretty handwriting producing that awful spelling -- did they really stop teaching spelling before pretty handwriting became a lost art?
Oh dear, these are really bad. I don't ONE TWO CEE any more of them!
I was pretty sure the 2nd cake said "HOTH reunion" which I thought was rather cool. then I realized I was wrong. I hate when that happens, no Luke, Leia, Han or Chewie reconvening on Hoth to go over good times escaping the Empire. sigh.
This day's post contains 100 percent of your daily needs of iron-y. One, I find it hilarious that "shining" is spelled wrong, but "congratulations," the usual bugaboo, wasn't. Also, it's one thing to misspell "achieve" and "imagine" - but to do it when you have those plastic flotsam pieces *with the spelling on them(?!?* ...wow *snicker*
SOL testing? I dunno about you guys, but where I'm from, "SOL" stands for something else. Maybe the recipient didn't pass, so she's SOL?
My pet peeve is misplaced apostrophes. Did schools quit teaching proper use of apostrophes a few years ago? It used to be people just misplaced them when the possessive was also plural. Now, many people seem to think an apostrophe is used to render a word plural. Grrrr!!
That being said, I'm also disturbed by the weird, purplish disembodied hand holding the diploma in the Phycology cake.
Phycology is the study of algae; mycology is the study of fungi (mushrooms). "Lucky misteak" by the wreckerator?? Supposed to be "Psychology"? Who can tell....
I read the "Shinning Stars" cake in Groundskeeper Willie's voice! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_1DBC4KHx8 Jump to 1:00.
Show me these wreckerators, and I'll show you eleven people who brag about never using algebra.
Edjukation, the Beautyfull
O beautiful for learning minds,
For helpping students’ grow,
For punktuation disregard;:
Come on, let creativity flow!
Wer’e gonna lern! Wer’e gonna lern!
Scholl’s can edjucate me…
I’l learn it all, starting each Fall,
From meth to phycology!
O beautiful for teacher’s feet
Who’s stern impassion stress
If you don’t know jist how to spell,
You can always make guess!
Wer’e gonna lern! Wer’e gonna lern!
Spell check mend every flaw,
Highlite an error with a wavy line there.
Edjukation? We guffaw!
I read one of those as "Hoth Reunion." Which sounds infinitely more cool than 40th Reunion.
SOL cake is probably from Virgina. Here our standarized tests are called "standards of learning", abbreviated SOL.
How'd they get the writting on top of the cherry?
Ummmm... I think some of that "butt stuff" got all over that cake. Yuck.
There's a fungus among us!
Phycology, FTW!!!!
"How'd they get the writting on top of the cherry?"
@jbrecken: Well, if you'll check out the telltale shadows on the actual cake, one can deduce that the actual goo was squeezed out on TOP of the plastic lid. ACTUALLY! =^e.e^= (Eesh...y'know??)
The people who spell shining as "shinning" must be the same ones who spell dining as "dinning". The unfortunate thing is that I saw the dinning room menu posted publicly at the local senior center just a couple of weeks ago. I'm sure the person who created it is a shinning star in the organization.
Where Jen sees a bell pepper, I see... Erm... Very much not a bell pepper.
... Oh God, my mind's dirtier than Jen's. That does not bode well for me.
Phycology- study of seaweed, which explains why those cake-books look they were dropped in the ocean. At least in MY mind's 2004's education (see what I learned on Cake Wrecks!) that is a fact.
I think the Jackson Five wrote a song about this...
A- B-three
Easy as 1-2-C
Simple as phycology
A-B-3, 1-2-C, baby, spell with me
You went to scholl to learn, girl
Things you never,never knew before
Like E before I when it's after C
And why 1 x 2 = 3
So, here I was mentally congratulating the wreckerator's correct spelling of "Congratulations", when I saw "stundles"! I lost it completely at that point...
They done used up all der grey celss, I reckon.
Sharon and mel; great job!!
@mel and Sharyn:
HOW do yoo gize 'spekt us (ME) to akshoolee lirn 2 spel ENNY thing thuh RITE WAY when itz SO darn mutch FUN 2 C the stuf yoo 2 rite heer make ing FUN of it??
Sharyn, mel and zippy ahahhaaha :D if these represent the future we are screwed
I before E except after C, I before E except after C. I cant stop staring at that one cake, it is killing me.
OwOwOw!!
Where, numbur won! UAS! UAS!
That was a good one today. Very funny, and I didn't have to put new lyrics to a song to say it.
It scares me they spelled congratulations right, but got easier words wrong.
My brain hurts. I fear for the future of our country.
I think this post is the PERFECT salute to the American education system -_-
Did anyone else notice the word below "Phycology"? To me it looks like "Engliste". The lyrics are, as usual, hilarious. Thanks for the great guffaw Sharyn, mel and Caroline B, too funny you guys. I have a friend who makes up his own lyrics to songs on the radio, if I could get him to check out CW we'd have another one, only he doesn't really like to type, so he probably would just start singing one of the tunes he sees here.
Happy Tuesday all.
I have 2 children whom are horrible spellers. Both have learning disabilities. I've seen many of these before. They are not, however, going for a career in wreckerating. Sad really. They would keep Jen and john (thoJ) in business for a long time.
Nobody mentioned that the reunion wreck is also missing an S???
@Sharyn, @mel @Caroline B ~ Y'all are in fine form today!
To me, SOL can only mean one thing: S*** Out of Luck. Which is what the recipients of these wrecks were.
Such hilarious wreckery! Thanks for brightening up my day.
@tracylee, they are also probably the same people who spell "losers" as "loosers."
Hey! If you don't honour your Honor Stundels, who will?!?!
So many mistakes here. Did anyone even notice that under the Phycology text we have one on Engliste?
Not sure about the last two letters, but they aren't an 'h'.
As I am writting this, I am reminded of all the mind's that are enhanced by scholling. Imagin the honor stundels of the future acheiving their dreams. For instance, Phycology is a clas where you learn that 1X2 out of 3 apples are actually red bell peppers. Naturally this is harder to remember than A B 3. But if you work really hard when you go back 2 scholl, you can pass your SOL testing and be a shinning star!
@SuBee: Wel sed.
@Jodi: apostrophes are really commas filled with helium, so they’re likely to float up into places they don’t belong. However, usage evolves, and you are correct: they may now be used to make a word plural, though, if it is a possessive plural, two are required (sometimes separated by an ampersand).
@Caroline: nicely done!
@SomethingWiccanthiswaycomes, mindy1, Pam and Jodee: thanks!
@sendingtheclowns: what you said…(and what…a catless comment???)
@CarolineB, mel and Sharyn: yew r mie heeroze!
#1 trying to sweeten me up by calling me "Sugar" isn't going to help
#2 do you think someone actually ordered "baby blue" decorations?
#3 "fack" to school? isn't it "frak"
#4 does the blue book underneath have "Engliste" on it?
#5 is "mauve" icing better than "baby blue?"
#6 is that a spice on some of the stars or did they try to "brulee" them?
#7 the orderer was "SOL"*
#8 I'd be "stundet" too if I saw pairs of little swimmers on a cake for a school (unless it was biology class)
#9 I'm pretty sure the plastic signs were added by someone to clear up the confusion- at least, I draem of a world where that's true
#10 it's for a band: "Da Greatest Classical Symphonies"
#11 RIP Dr Scholl!
Today's comment was brought to you by quotation marks.
* "Sadly outta luck" ;)
@Jamie Jo & Matt J bless you for the Hoth thought! :D now, I like that cake
@mel: oopzzz! =^~.-^= ...must've been zzee nap time!

Re: title of post: Hey! What's this "Wreckerator" jazz? I just noticed that! It's ALWAYS (historically!) been "wreckorator" (as in "decOrator"...as in "cakes"!?)
I don't see what's wrong.
"Keep Writting" is clearly a cake for a lawyer.
The "Scholl's over" cookie was created in celebration by someone who hates orthopaedic footware.
