What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

This post has officially received the seal of disapproval. (And I LOVE him...)

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterSharyn

Don't worry, he's not all the way dead, he's only mostly dead. All the way dead all you can do is go through their pockets for loose change.

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterSaraCVT

Poor Mickey and on his birthday too! Loved the reaction shots, because I'm pretty sure I may have made that face too.

Lettuce toast Mickey,
A well-bread mouse,
Laughter and funniness
He does espouse.
He’s tasteful and pleasing
From his ears to his knees,
‘specially when double-decked
With tomato and cheese!

The seal's on the verge of a great big sneeze!
(He might be allergic to mice...or cheese.)
=^-.-^=

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered Commentersendingtheclowns

Poor squished Mickey is very well executed. (Thank you, I'll be here all week!)

I've made that same face more than once while looking at this very site!

@mel ~ That was AWESOME!

Looks like someone needs a Miracle Pill. The chocolate makes it go down easier.

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterCarol

Not mostly dead. Flat as the witch. I think he's really most sincerely dead. Cute cake tho. Don't think I could eat it. The seal is adorable but maybe needs a dental exam.

I guess the skewer doubles as a wooden stake through the heart.

M -I -C....See you..er..sometime.
K-E-...Y? (Because what goes in must come out.)
M-O-U-S-Eat!

I love you all.

Disapproving Seal sez, "Bukkit List FAIL".

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterBADKarma

I don't see this as a wreck. It's a well-done visual pun--A Mickey Mouse Club (Sandwich)!

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterCatherine Raymond

Hahahahhaha@mel :D this is funny and disturbing at the same time. What occasion would call for such a cake I wonder..

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered Commentermindy1

Hahahahahaha...I laughed my arse off at the Mickey Mouse Club. Great cake and visual pun. LOVE it! (Of course now my dog thinks I'm crazy since I'm home all alone laughing my arse off, but I'll give him a pupperoni and he'll get over it.)

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNancie

Cafeteria
offers new mystery meat.
Oh yum. Mouse sandwich.

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterHaiku Joy

Where's the BACON?!?!

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterLesliM

MLT? A nice Mutton, Lettuce and Tomato sandwich where the mutton is nice and lean...

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterJessicaLyn

I may be alone in my reaction but I laughed out loud. I love it! Perhaps this goes back to the fact that Donald Duck was always my favorite Disney cartoon character. Mickey seemed insipid and too NICE to me. LOL

Heresy. I know. :-)

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterGinger

Wow. And I thought it was bad last week when spiders were found in a bunch of Tesco bananas ;D

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDPL

Greatest. Mickey. Mouse. Club. Cake. EVER!

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterDebs

House of Mouse is going to need a temporary manager for a while. Can't give the miracle pill too soon or Mickey'll be a bit floppy when he wakes up.

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterE. Anne

Hahaha! I love this :)

There should be more punning cakes :)

"Hello, my name is Minnie Mouse. You killed my Mickey. Prepare to die."

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered Commentersandy

Actually a really well done cake, but yes... definitely did get THAT reaction out of me. WOWZA

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterCarma

hehehehehe MLT

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterWhitney

Mel: Genius!

I wonder, if you have a MOUSE, lettuce and tomato sandwich, how many mouses do you need to make a serving? Especially if they're nice and lean?

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterTLC

Disney lawyers will likely sue that baker's a**, but I love it!!! DIE, YOU VERMIN, DIE!!! (Can you tell I'm not a Mickey fan?) Seriously, how can one not admire something so twisted?

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNancy

@Ginger, Donald has always been my favorite, too!

Love all the Princess Bride references, y'all. :D

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterMary

i agree with....whatever animal (seal?) is in the reaction pictures.

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered Commenterarchersangel

It's actually pretty creative as a pun....I can't imagine such a well done cake happening as a mere honest mistake.
Maybe the customer ordered a "mickey mouse club" cake & the baker decided to go prankster on them with the pun-cake?

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterNerfbomb

I second Fluffy Cow's sentiment.

Well done cake, post, and comments. Mwah!!

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered Commenterlisadh

Am I the only one who thinks his feet are on backwards?

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterRP

@Jodee, mindy1 and TLC -- thanks, I enjoy doing this and am glad you liked it. :-)
@TLC: I would suggest one mouse per serving. Knowing, however, many will pass on the sandwiches (Oh, I'd love to have one, but I just started this new Rodent-Free Diet) maybe fewer is fine. I would, however, have lots of extra salad.....

Best post of the year. Both the cake, follow up pic and comments all HILARIOUS

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered Commentercheezchik32

Aw, this whole post is Mickey Mouse if you ask me.

November 18, 2013 | Unregistered CommenterKnittedbooties

Lol poor Mickey Mouse. He orders a cake and ends up a sandwich instead. Well done though hehe.
