June 1, 2012 (I'm hoping to make this a Top Ten list by the end of this wedding season. Fingers crossed!)
Not everyone is fully fluent in text speak and common abbreviations, so let's cut these couples a little slack, mkay?

Since she took my last name when we got married, my wife's initials are now "R. A. G." But we didn't put that on a cake, sorry.
My mother grew up in the era when *everything* was monogrammed. Her initials? GAG. :-)
At least the PMS wasn't in red
At least the cakes themselves are well done (though that third monogram is a bit off-center). The monograms, though. Wouldn't you check that sort of thing, and say, gee, maybe I don't want to do a monogram?
My fiance and I are both JKs. No monograms for us.
I find it unfortunate when people don't think about initials when naming babies (friends whose initials were PIG) or providing monograms. Granted, you can't foresee the joining of names upon marriage, but you can think about the fact that monograms and initials cause OMG moments in this texting age.
I realize the expectation that a baker will ask "Are you sure?" has headed the way of the dodo, but -- yikes!

I once had a couple that wanted a monogram and it would have been "WAR". I talked them out of it... now I'm thinking I should have let them do it and my cake could have been immortalized here! :(

When I got married, I had to hyphenate my last name, otherwise my initials would have been ASS. I made the right call, I think.

It's a shame, since some (well, ok; one and a half) of these would be quite nice if the couples could catch a clue! I can understand people not getting NBD, but T&A? Really? Even my dad knows that one.
Great post as always, took me a second to see what you were getting at with the cupcake. Now, obviously, I cannot unsee.
While the first cake may represent the truth (wedder’s remorse), and yes, I thought the top on the fourth cake looked a little pastie…I believe the second cake is a reference to Queen Marie-Antoinette -- you can tell it’s French by the clever play on the person’s name: J-K (Jacquie). Of course, the reference is to what the Queen said during the hard times in her country. Upon being told the people had no bread, she replied, in a rather unkind way, “Let them eat ka-ka.” This, naturally, was not well received, and quickly the royal court announced that what the Queen really had said was “Let them eat cake.” This didn’t help, and as we know, the Queen lost her head. Consequently, on the anniversary of her beheading, some people make what is called the “Let them eat ka-ka cake.” The cake, as pictured here, is totally covered in brown frosting, to represent you-know-what, and sprinkled with red to symbolize the poor Queen’s blood. (And…a little known fact about her husband, Louis XVI: a lover of rock ‘n’ roll, he had his King’s men write a song about him – a little ditty called “Louie Louie”….)

One thing to consider that when monogramming, it goes, First / Last / Middle. That's a lot of forethought to put into naming kids. I have to say I didn't, but (so far) all our initials are good any which way. ;-)
I personally am delorrified that people with unfortunate initials don't notice this problem BEFORE it goes on the cake...
I often wonder if people think when they do this kind of thing. We have a local firm whose initials are indeed, WTF, which they have proudly emblazoned on all their paperwork and vanity licence plates. And in Viet Nam at one ot the airports we saw another plane with "PMT Airlines" painted down the side of it. I told my husband we weren't going to fly with them, ever :-)
As someone whose monogram would be DOA - & who never wore the shetland wool sweater her mother had monogrammed for her in college (apparently without thinking about it), I shake my head at the 2nd to last cake. I take comfort that my initials, DAO, when sung are fun however (think calypso music). Where are the monogram police when you need them?

Jen, I agree; "delorrified" is the right choice! ("Horrighted" could sound kinda trampy.)
When we were expecting our second child we picked out Bethany Ann for her first and middle names. Fortunately, before we made that official it occurred to me that her initials (not monogram, just regular ol' initials) spelled B A G. Ahem. Her name promptly became Sara Beth. :D

I think the No Big Deal cake is my favorite, I actually love the colors and the font and total props to the baker of the camo cake, that's the nicest one I've ever seen. Seems like the DOA cake at the very least should have been obvious but I'd say the same about the PMS cake!

Some of the cakes would've made for beautiful cakes without the monograms. I love the PMS cake all except for the monogram. The AGE one on the other hand scares me. I hope the decorators at least had a good laugh while making these cakes though.
@Juliettesjules -- my hubby and are are S & M, which I realized the first time I decided to informally sign a Christmas card to friends. Needless to say, I changed it to M & S.
My youngest cousin's two children are Sam and Ella.
Today is Doughnut Day It seems a shame that y'all refuse to do a Sunday Sweets for Doughnut Day. What's worse is that you failed to even give a tip of the hat to Doughnut Day (which is today) today. Instead you post some wildly inappropriate monograms and think we'll all laugh so much that we'll forget The Doughnuts. Well, I for one, did forget. Until I read the beginning of my post and remembered that Today is Doughnut Day.
So you go ahead and laugh, darlin', cause Doughnut don't care.
Doughnut's got too much class to show how hurt it is.

I was going to use our monogram on the wedding invitations until I realized it spelled APE. Reversing it was not much better with EPA.
My cousin attended PMSS (Port Moody Secondary School). I'm not kidding. You can Google it. Their sports teams were the Port Moody Blues and their slogan was "Don't Mess with PMSS!"

My husband and my initials together are S&M. He wanted so badly to have that all over our wedding. Thankfully, he had no say.
Which makes me wonder how many of those were done full well knowing what they could mean. If any of those couples had a sense of humour like my DH's, I could see it. (Specifically, the T&A seems like it would a good snicker).

The monogram on my wedding cake would've been CDC... as in Center for Disease Control. We went with flowers on top instead!
