Terribly Inappropriate

A few of you are aware that today is a kind of milestone for me, since it's the day John and I planned many months ago to end this blog.
I'm happy to report this is not goodbye, however. You'll be stuck with me - bad puns and all - for a while longer at least.
So, to celebrate the fact that absolutely nothing noteworthy is happening here today, allow me to present something really inappropriate:
See? It's seasonally inappropriate!
[head tilt] Er...among other things.
And really, wouldn't "Happy HooHoo" sound better? Or did the baker realize - as I just did - that that sounds like a new feminine hygiene product?
"Happy HooHoo: for all your salsa-dancing/horseback-riding/splashing-through-the-ocean-surf needs. Because you totally do those things. If you're a REAL woman."
Ok, that veered into unexpectedly inappropriate places. Sorry. Let's stick with seasonal impropriety, shall we? You know, like this:
"Hey. I'M UP HERE."
Something something dairy-free! Haha!
Feels good to get that off my chest.
The nuts, I mean.
The CRUSHED nuts, I mean. Jeez. Get your mind out of the gutter already. It's getting crowded in here.
Ok, forget seasonally inappropriate: this is just plain wrong.
HOLY UNFORTUNATE STEM PLACEMENT, BATMAN.
Well, maybe more logs than stems...
[rimshot!]
Thanks to Megan H., Dion H., & Katie B. from the bottom of my peach.

I, too, am glad you are not stopping cake wrecks. That would be a sad, sad day. If feeling overwhelmed, how about once a week posts? Or just weekend posts, or something where you don't have to do it every day? Also, our paper had a contest once a month-ish for people to send in funny captions for a cartoon. You could put a cake out there and have people post their funny caption, then announce the winner! Their reward? Being the winner.
Thank you for all the funny!
That last pic made me laugh out loud. In the middle of the library. In the middle of the big snowstorm in Seattle. Thanks for taking me away from it all for a little while! You posts are awesome!!!!!!
Hi Jen!
Just saw this, and I didn't even realize you were thinking about closing this blog down. I completely understand why you were heading that way, but I'm glad you decided to keep the blog going - I love this stuff!
I'm sorry you won't be publishing anymore books - but again, I completely understand, and if it was a trade between the two - well, I'd rather have the blog.
Here, have some warm, fluffy *hugs* to chase any residual blog-blues away.
*HUGS*

Dear Jen (and John, Hubby of Jen),
I'm very glad that you are feeling better and are not ready to retire Cake Wrecks. You and your wonderful blog have gotten me through some really tough times. The past 3 years have been physically difficult for me and have included surgeries to repair tendons in my hand and feet, as well as several back surgeries. Your blog kept me company during all the various recuperation periods, and amused during the rest of the time. But last year in February (2011) I had a disk injury that landed me in bed, lying on my right side, for 9 months (while I battled with my insurance company over getting the surgery I needed to make me whole again. I finally won that battle in the beginning of November, and have now had surgery that fixed the problem. Huzzah!) You and your blog were the things I most looked forward to each day. The wrecks, along with your commentary, gave me something to laugh about every day, even when I was at my darkest, lowest points. I didn't comment often...it's hard to type on a computer when you are lying on your side. But I wanted to tell you every day how much you cheered me up. So thank you for all the enjoyment you bring to so many people every day. I hope you will still want to do this for a long time.
Hugs, Kati Strong
p.s. I was very sad that I still wasn't well enough to join you on your Austin stop, but my friend brought me back a piece of cake and a Wreck the Halls book that you signed for me. My mom and I giggled over it for hours at Christmas. =)
Thank you for not ending!!!
I've loved this blog from afar for a long time and it never fails to cheer me up. The world needs more HAPPY stuff, and you're a GREAT SUPPLIER!!!
Thank you for what you do!!! :)
Cakewrecks nearly ended?!?!?!?!? Gack, that would mean we all have to go back to a miserable somber existence without a guaranteed daily chuckle.
Now, so as to avoid the possibility of such trauma, may I suggest taking a page from xkcd, and only posting mon/wed/fri (and the beloved sundays)? i can certainly see how trying to be funny six days a week is a lot. Now, I love that you post daily, but if the choice is no cakewrecks vs less cakewrecks, less wins hands-down.
(I may not be posting comments daily, but I still read daily. I'm just a bit behind because I was off work sick. And am newly engaged so when I did crawl to the laptop it was to look at wedding related pretty pictures. Reading articles, even short funny ones, was too much...)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Punderful from beginning to end!
I just gawked at the last one...then lmao!!!!!!!! Please come back your quotes with the cakes are so uplifting!!!!!
My 3 year old heard me laughing and came to see what I was looking at. First thing she says is "whose butt is that?"
LOL Great post =) So mega happy you're not getting rid of the blog. It would deprive me of my daily dose of laughter.
I just found your website and am having a great time checking out all these wrecks!!!lol I have to tell on myself - it never occurred to me there were any "peaches" on this last cake until about half-way thru the comments!!!! I had immediately assumed the "obvious" (and thought ewww!) but wondered about the green leaf!!!roflmbo (hehehe) I join the rest in thanking you for continuing your blog (that is if you are still doing it 4 months later)! One really does have to wonder about some people's thought processes on many of these!lol Tks bunches!
Ok, so I'm a new visitor and when I scrolled down to see the poop in the butt picture I laughed SO hard I started coughing and couldn't stop!! That is the funniest thing I have seen in a LONG time! How can someone NOT see what they did there?? LOL
long time reader first time commentor......bahahahah i cant stop laughing i think i just wet myself bahahahah.......seriously weak pelvic floor after 2 10 pound babies bahahahahah........ holy unfortunate stem placement batman is my comment for the day.
i love cakewrecks please dont ever end!
Thank you so much for not ending this blot. Me and my mom absolutely LOVE this.
flipping through posts with my three year old... "Mommy, look at that hiney cake!"
This is THE only blog, that NO MATTER how many times I visit, no matter how deeply into your archives I dig, never gets old. Never loses its hilarity. I've lost (OK, sobering admission here) full HOURS that I'm supposed to be working, reading your posts. I've snorted. I've guffawed. I've (quite pathetically) wet the chair ohsuchateensytinybitnoonewillevernotice laughing in a full out, flat on state of hysteria. There are SO MANY other sites I can say (almost) the same of- the first time you read that post, you're just sucked in, doubled up, can't wait to tell everyone about this it's soooo hilarious - and I'll re-visit once or twice but there is not a single blog, that remains fresh, that holds my attention, that is still new and FUNNY . Not so for your writing. Every single time I log on, I'm crying. Please, oh pretty pretty please, I know we all have to move on to bigger and better - but maybe you can hang in there just a tad longer? Best wishes either way - no matter what your new venture, I'm sure I'll be reading ; )
The last two cakes have me crying with laughter. Seriously, the tears are streaming down my face.
Perfect, just perfect.
I DO love the hilarious photos of all this culinary queerness...but your side-splitting blog and blow-by-blow descriptions are just...well...the icing on the cake.
