What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Because Every Blog Needs a Jingle

There's a series over on Comedy.com called Geek Pad, which is a "weekly roundup on the latest in news and gadgets". This past week the show's creators and hosts, Sam Riegel and Rob Blatt, honored me with a gift. The gift...of music.

Hit it, boys!

(This is the whole episode. If you get impatient, skip ahead to 1:27. Oh, and parents: be aware there is some mild language in the vid.)

I would like to thank Sam and Rob not only for the music (the song I'm playing), but also for being such devastatingly intelligent, witty, and attractive guys. Impeccable taste AND funny to boot? You two feel free to geek out at my pad anytime.

You know, to play cards. My hubby and I are always looking for new Spades partners.

:)

Just further proof this is the most entertaining blog out there: how many have other people writing theme songs for them?

That's great!! I love your blog and check it every day. I've even submitted my own cake wreck, but it hasn't made it in. I showed your blog to a friend of mine who is a professional baker, he can't get enough of it!

Thanks for such an enjoyable site, Jen.

Seriously, this is bigtime! LOL!

I remember reading here when there were one or two comments a post. Congrats on your appeal--as a former cake decorator, I'm happy to just read about the wrecks, and not be featured.

I do carry my camera with me to the store now, just in case!

OMG, have you seen the McD commercial with the wedding cake made of McNuggets? The mere thought makes me want to puke, but my first instinct was to find a still for you to post - still looking!

Congrats, although I haven't had a chance to hear it yet, blackberry won't play flash, and can't really blast the jingle in my cubicle!

And please, as already requested, no automatic music on websites!! Some of us would like to keep our jobs, thanks.

And I hate to mention it but...
3 days, no new wreck...need... Wreck... Must. Laugh. Soon...

Spades. I haven't played that since college. Of course that's about all I did in college.

When's the next hand start, I'm there!

Yay! That is hilareous and so cute to boot. Congrats on the jingle-jangle!

Heads up - this embedded video triggers an infection warning from anti-spyware software from Computer Associates. It's unclear whether this is any real threat; there are reports of this particular issue giving CA's stuff false positives. The virus it reports is called Actns/Swif.T; worth a lookup if you're concerned.

Someone asked if Sam Riegel is a a voice actor; yes, he is! He's probably best known for voicing Donatello of the Ninja Turtles, and he also does voice work for a lot of anime, so if you watch anime you've probably heard his voice somewhere.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Riegel - lists his roles. :)
