What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Now THIS Is Ironic

It's like "celabrate"
On your literacy day:

It's a "great job"

On a depressing cake.

It's the good advice

That you just didn't take couldn't spell!

And who would have thought?

It figures!

Thanks to Melissa S., Wilma S., M.K., Teresa, & Jennifer B. for our daily recommended dose of irony.

Yes, that IS the Ass-end of greatness.

So, we're mooning "Greatness", then?

1) This calls for a sellabrashun!
2) This is the cake Job's wife gave to him after he lost everything.
3) This is obviously a cake for the doctor who does the best butt augmentations.
4) Too bad the baker didn't take the advice.
5) I believe Dr. Smith said it best, "Oh, the pain, the pain".

I remember Alanis! My daughter loved her.

I hereby publicly confess to being on the ass end of greatness. Thank you.

Oh my gosh! "assend to greatness" is my new favorite cake! And, "gratidion" is a new iteration we haven't seen before!

So many sad, sad things about that last cake. I picture Amy Farrah Fowler singing "...there's <<twitch>> tears in the frosting, happy birthday to me." Also, what do you suppose this person was gratideoning from? Clearly not grammar (ha!) school. And last, but certainly not least, because of this blog I have seen too many childbirth cakes, and am of the considered opinion that those brown sprinkles should never be put on any food again ever.

Oh, Jen ... *shakes head sadly* don't you realize that the last cake isn't misspelled? They were just congratulating themselves on their "gratideon!" which is, um ... you know ... never mind! I give up! Somebody else with a quicker wit than I needs to figure that one out!

I think our little "gratidate" may have started celebrating too soon. A bit of remedial spelling lessons may be in order.

Huh. *I* think someone invented a holiday called "Greatideon" just so they could have cake. In fact, now I think about it, that's not a bad idea! Let's all celebrate Greatideon today! :D

Okay; does anyone else think that those chocolate sprinkles (last picture) resemble mouse droppings? The next time you're in a bakery, POINT IT OUT to anyone within earshot--just for the fun of it.

isn't Greatideon the singular of Greatidea ?

April 11, 2019 | Unregistered Commenteroneblankspace

I was actually a bit worried that the “Happy Gratidıon to Me!” cake was done by the graduate him/herself. Then I remembered what site I was on.

Now I have the song stuck in my head. The neighbors will be lucky if I don't start singing it at the top of my lungs lol. Those were hilarious.

April 12, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterArleneMarie

At first I thought 'literacy' was spelled incorrectly then i realized it was ,celebrate'

April 12, 2019 | Unregistered CommenterNathan R.

I don't care how people get to greatness. If it's assend first then so be it!Then you get a Greatideon cake!

The writing on the "Reserch" cake is gorgeous! Too bad about the spelling. (And the spacing, but you can't have everything.)

I don't know why you people have a problem with "gratideon" -- it's a perfectly cromulent word.
