7 Back-To-School Cakes That Shall Not Pass

School's back! Yay!!
Now, how do we sign these bakers up?
(Or at least you were.)
Yes, really. Another one.
And a special shout-out to all of you heading off to college, like Andy here:
Congrats on being "excepted"!!!
Thanks to Cindy C., Michelle M., Hayley, Amanda M., Susan, Tanya, & Erika P. for the "exceptional" work.

1) This cake just doesn't measure up, I don't care what yardstick you measure it by. Give these bakers an inch and they'll add an unnecessary apostrophe.
2) I am Groot!
3) Maybe they're talking about a grade of apple, you know, as opposed to the B, C, D or F apple.
4) This one has a worm. It's definitely an "F" apple.
5) And to quote Inspector Clouseau, "Not any more".
6) "Imagine there's no "e". It's easy if you try. And an "e" before "i", but no one to tell you why."
7) I guess Andy is quite acceptional.
The fourth cake down might be a joke - misspelling "skool" deliberately. I'm willing to give the baker the beneifit of the doubt, at any rate.
The second one illustrates one of my (many) pet peeves. Mispronouncing "our" as if it was "are". No wonder it isn't spelled correctly! When President Ford died, there was a big billboard outside his hometown that read "Gerald "R" Ford" - as if to read "Our" man. I wanted to climb up and fix it! Aargh!
I'm trying to decide what that orange implement is in the first cake, because there's no way I'm acknowledging that's a pencil. The inner portion of a syringe? A deflated balloon? Something disturbing? I'll go with the last one.
These are the best spellers I know, present company excepted.
um...the "back to skool" one -- I don't see why that's a wreck. I've seen "back to skool" used for humor a lot, and the cake looks adorable, for a grocery-store creation. Maybe the misspelling was intentional & meant to be funny, in that special parent-humor kind of way?
*Numerous teachers sob into coffee*
I wouldn't count the "skool" one; it's bound to be deliberate. Especially since it's otherwise pretty well done.
With #4 they were apparently going for an apple-pumpkin hybrid.
I really hope no teachers got these cakes lol. One look and the poor teacher would probably want to go right back to vacation again lol.
I agree with the others above: #4 looks like it was deliberately spelled that way. That's also a very cute caterpillar / worm / thing there.
The "Back to Skool" cake is pretty well done and like others said, probably isn't a real wreck. The first cake though, with the flaccid pencil, definitely does belong on the list.
I knew people would protest including #4. Really, people, can't you see that it's funny and belongs in this theme, even though it's well-executed and probably misspelled on purpose??? The definition of a 'wreck' given on the side bar is something that is funny! Sigh.
The "Back to Skool" was done that way on purpose, I surmise, to make a joke about going back to school so that you can learn to spell "back to school" correctly.
"We <heart> ore teacher" - maybe the teacher is from the Colorado School of Mines or some geology department?
Am I the only one thinking #2 could just as easily -- well, with a bit of squinting, anyway -- read "We (heart) one teacher"...?
