Old Glory Daze

Today, we celebrate...the American Flag.
O-oh, say can you SEEEE? BYYY the bakery light?
How so soundly they failed... to give our flag any meaning:
Those brown stripes and blob "stars" ARE a scurr-i-lous sight!
And the RED parts they botched... are so def'nitely leaning:
And what's that O-VER THEEEERE?!
[cymbal crash!!]
Did the BAKER NOT CARE?
[slide whistle!]
A goof, what a sight - it's more THAN I can bear.
(Yes. Really.)
No WAY does thi-is new-fangled airbru-ush yet blaa-aaaave!
[You know, "to blave?" It means "to bluff."]
[Now, someone fetch me an MLT!]
[Ahem]
For the BAND of the THREEEEEE (red stripes)...
And the hoooome...of theeeee....WAAAAAAAVE!
(Before you ask: all of today's wrecks were sold right here in the good ol' US of A, on or around American holidays. I also have LOTS more where these came from. [proffering tissue] Tissue, teachers?)
Thanks to ToniAnn B., Trace L., Stephanie P., Sarah C., Kelly S., Sharon E., Lori A., Lin Q., & Daniel K. for their flagging enthusiasm.
Happy Flag Day!

Excellent word work there, Jen! Love it!
I thought for a second thay'd substituted bacon for the striped part on #3. … It might have worked better.
But make sure the tomato is nice and ripe.
One of my favorite Song Wrecky tributes you've ever done!
Those cakes are a desecration of our flag :O D:
The only thing better than true love
Doesn't the third one down look like a Pop Tart and bacon combo?
I didn't know there were blue stripes in the flag.
I'm starting to wonder if some bakers even know the colors of the flag. Bravo! Patriotic wreckiness!
I like the airbrush one. It's not really trying to be a flag - just flag-inspired. The others are trash though.
While those are horrific renditions of flags, wouldn't it be worse to have a good flag on a cake...only to eat it? lol
@KATE! Yes!
Trying to figure out if three-stripe has a botched blue emoji or a botched blur dice (showing 5 on that side, sorta).
Be grateful you don't live in Turkmenistan ;-)
No, no. Just... no. *headdesk*
No more flags now, I mean it...
TPB reference FTW!
when the mutton is nice and lean!
#1 "Blue field, white stars. Blue field, white stars. Man, this'd be easier if I wasn't colorblind!"
Oh my gosh.. I cannot stop laughing and also wondering if the wreckerators have seen the flag or just made it up as they went. Which is what these look like lol.
I actually had to google the American flag after reading this post because it got me all confused (European citizen here).
The first one looks like someone just squeezed tooth paste on the cake...
I knew, Jen, that you would come through for Flag Day! Horrible wrecks and a great soundtrack are a winner.
Congrats on your little fluffballs. (Anyone unclear about this can go to Epbot, Jen's other blog)
Oh, *please* tell me you have a post each for other nations' flags? I would even accept a combined Australia/New Zealand collection. Use the NZ anthem, the Australian one is awful. Or maybe use it, then you can improve on it? Girt. 'nuff said.
Or a combined Nations-with-three-horizontal-stripes post? I bet there's a horror-load of them messed up in inconceivable ways!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who saw bacon on that third cake...
[You know, "to blave?" It means "to bluff."]
[Now, someone fetch me an MLT!]
at which point i lost it, and really did laugh out loud. my cat looked at me with an expression that seemed to say "do you MIND?"
Never before has our American flag made me hungry for bacon.
Cake #3.Next time ,just use Red Vines... 7,not 13.Or did I count 14 red stripes? ...Anyone else?
