What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Nicole Is Living Her Best Life, People. BACK OFF

May is International Civility Awareness month, so now that it's almost over, LET'S GET AWARE.

For example:

Let's say your coworker is droning on about something that happened over the weekend.

Now, you could reply with:

But the civil thing to do is LISTEN and respond accordingly:

Remember, the more specific your apology, the less likely you'll be asked to bring snacks to next month's break room birthday bash.

Maybe someone you know just had quintuplets.

You could say:

...but that emphasizes the crappy side of babies. NOT CIVIL.

Instead, why not add a positive spin:

While subtly reminding them that baby boys make their OWN rain, IF you know whadda mean.

Muahahaaa. Haha. Ha.

PEE IN YOUR FACE.

Ahem.

We all know goodbyes can be hard, but that's no excuse for rudeness:

Instead, when a co-worker leaves, try to part on good terms.

Really REALLY good terms.

Welp, I think we all learned something today. Especially about Nicole. (Mrowr.)

Allow me to leave you with the immortal words of Sir Alfred Lord Tennyson, who, as he was leaving the pub one cold, February night, was inspired to utter that most poetic of farewells...

Thanks to Megan M., Keely M., Anony M., Amanda H., Clayton M., Karen C., & Jemima, who should know Lord Tennyson said that to Duke Nigel Pignorthupton, and meant it, like, totally affectionately.

Should you give a cake after coitus? Why not. Pedro felt it was a good idea to get a date.

What was the occasion for the "Sorry you got stabbed!" one? Did somebody get stabbed and someone made this cake to make them feel better? It's more of a chilling reminder... or a threat.

Huh. You'd THINK- his being a Lord, and all-he might have offered the Duke a lift, maybe.... (then I could've run in and snagged that gigantic chocolate cookie.....). Does anyone know the answer to the mystery farewell cake? "your dead" what? The wreckorator needs to brush up on his or her panmanship......Eh??

I thought you were back but I'm sure I saw that "Good *uck" cake before.

[Editor's note- Hi Huh, We have something like 7 different "Good Luck" cakes where the L looks wrong. Kind of the nature of mistakes, that they might happen again. We literally have over a hundred congratulations misspellings. Today's cakes have never been posted. That said, we'll still have best of posts but there should be at least 4 new posts every week if we have the content. Hope that works for you. Have a lovely day. john (thoJ)]

Looking past the "your" and "me" on the "Farewell" cake, it seems someone isn't aware that "farewell" means "fare well," not "you're going away."

Maybe the "Farewell your dead to me" cake is a request? Like saying, "Say goodbye to your dead peeps for me"? In archaic Beowulf-speak? Hmm. That might be a reach.,
