What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

And F For Phonics

Reagan ordered a cake that said, "Look Who's Six!"

Instead she got a real hoot:

Owl really?

Bethany wanted to keep it simple, so she asked for a cake with just "Happy Birthday" on it - no name, no number.

...and she still got a big no-no:

Bonus: I just realized they spelled it "Brithday."

And finally, Esther's office cake was supposed to say, "Great Sales Effort This Month!"

...so I guess they get an A for Effort.

Thanks to Reagan S., Bethany B., & Esther G. for the concerted affert.

1) Technically, he's not really sitting. He's perching. I'm sure nobody gives a hoot.
2) I went to the bakery,
Found a cake with no name.
I doubt that this baker is sane.
In the bakery,
The baker's to blame,
This cake is a no-no, ain't it a shame?
3) So, baker, is English your second or third language, behind Gobbledygook and Klingon?

It's too bad we don't typically order cakes for all those baby milestones. Makes me realize how much cake I missed out on with my son - rolling over, sitting, smiling, first diaper explosion, etc. - you know, all the big stuff.

...is that POPCORN around the second cake??!?!?!?
...
...
...The redemption gained from the non-phallic carrots earlier this week is GONE.
NICE WORK, Wang-Leg perps.....

"A for effort" - I love your puns!

Shouldn’t that be “An A for Affert”?

"They try to make me write Happy Birthday I say, No, No, No!"

*apologies to the late Ms Winehouse.

After taking a terrible phone call at work the other day, I wonder how many of these cakes were ordered over the phone versus in store. I swear to you, the guy I talked to was using a styrofoam cup attached to a string. (When he called back on a landline, the call went much better.) I could see cake #1 happening when the person answering the phone got Styrofoam Cup Guy on the other end.

Granted, I don't know how to explain what happened to cake #3. That goes for the "afferts" as well as what looks like mold growing on the frosting. Perhaps things meant to dissolve in other things aren't the best items to sprinkle on a cake. (I'm thinking it was espresso powder or something.)

Well the owl cake is cute at least lol. I really wonder if what you ask them is immediately tossed aside so they put whatever they want on these cakes. I can't even stop giggling to type this lol.
