What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

ABBA-Tastic

"Introducing our new 'Take a Chance' Cake Reclamation Program!"

("Cue music!")

If they change their MINDS!

Pipe on thick white lines.

Wait, that's not 3?

Cross it out! Who'll see?

Don't want your mistakes to show?

Slap some frosting down!

Go on fix it, THEY won't know!

Everyone likes brown!

If you're all a-LONE!
'cause the bak'ry staff has gone.
Get a piping plea?

Try a black Sharpie!

Wanna do your VERY best?
Scrape it off, bye-bye!

Transform that MINNIE mess!
Now it's a bow tie.

Take a chance, you'll see...

(That's all I ask of you... Buddy?)

All this cake ain't free!

[music screeches to a halt]

Er, that'll be $37.50, please.

Thanks to Christina B., Limmuel B., Katie T., Stephanie P., Chay H., Kristin A., Kris, & Wendy B for the Money Money Money.

While the "Hrppy Brrthd9y" is atrociously piped I'm pretty positive the "Chay" in sharpie is on the plastic cover. You can tell from the way it goes over one of the plastic Hello Kitty heads.

I needed something to perk me up this sleepy afternoon (sugar crash from a [no so] mini red velvet bundt cake after lunch) and ABBA songs going through my head was just the ticket! Thanks for the giggles!

I sang the ABBA song in my head along with your words. Thanks for the enjoyable mashup.

How long will it be before these bakers meet their Waterloo?

Yellow, fuchsia and purple... who ordered _that_ color combination?! Yikes!

Well here I am at almost nine thirty at night singing Abba at the top of my lungs lmao. I am sure the neighbors love me right now.

My favorite is the "HAPPy BARThD-n" with Hello Kitty.

I thought the pile of sugar covering the icing smear on #6 was a nice extra touch...I mean, let's be honest, the 3 yr old it's meant for isn't going to notice or care about the cover up. Surely the baker expected the kid to immediately smash into the cake with her hands to eat it before anyone noticed the icing job, right? ;P
