Sunday Sweets: The 10 Cutest Cakes Of All Time*

I know what you're thinking: "Why hasn't john (the hubby of Jen) written a Sweets in like, 3 years? I miss his clever use of the word daisy!" The answer is I was asleep.
So. To make up for lost time, I present:
The 10 Cutest Cakes Of All Time*
(*that we could find on the internet)**
(**that we haven't already posted)***
(***as far as I know)
Yeah.
#10- Bunny Taking A Shower
(By Sugar High Inc.)
Because seriously, look at that bunny.
Also, from a technical standpoint, look how smooth everything is. That's hard to do. If you don't believe me, look at every wedding missed mark we've ever posted.
#9- Quilted Owl
(By Chrisie's Cakes)
I actually teared up a little when I saw this cake.
Also, from a technical standpoint, the quilting and textures are beautiful. Look at the little feet!
#8- Puppy Pretty Much Just Waving
(By Cake DIY)
HELLO leetle puppy dawg!
Also, from a technical standpoint, d'awwwwww.
Fun fact! I have misspelled technical three times in a row now.
#7- Kitten Possibly Drowning In A Cake
At first glance, this looks pretty tragic. Maybe the kitten's just moments from death. Or maybe I'm reading too much into this. But how do we know?
Also, I have no techinicla* standpoint.
(*I'm embracing my awful spelling.)
#6- Panda In Mid-High Five
(By Sweet Little Cakes)
Duuude. I would very much like to snuggle him.
Fun fact: Pandas communicate almost exclusively by high five. -source: Wikipedia
#5- Adorable Cactus
(By Hello Naomi)
Why yes, Mr. Cactus. I would love a stabby, stabby hug. And thank you for asking.
#4- (Incoherent Squealing)
(By Wonder Cake)
(more incoherent squealing)
#3- Resigned To His Fate Owl
(By Zoe's Fancy Cakes)
I love the expression. It's like a grandfather at Epcot getting his picture taken late in the day in front of Spaceship Earth while his grandkids are screaming in the background about how they hate Epcot and they want to see Elsa.
#2- Elephant That Kinda Looks Like He's Pooping String
(By Birthday Center Elite. Maybe.)
But C'MON! The string makes a heart! So, like, it's a heart string!
Also, from a terginicle standpoint, do you know how hard it is to get nice sharp edges on a cake like that?! It's impossible. This cake is literally impossible. Just saying.
And the best cake this week that made Jen and I laugh so hard we snorted a little:
#1- Startled Sloth
Because he's seen things, man. He's seen things...
Thanks for being the best readers ever, you guys. And HAPPY SUNDAY!!!

I want the cactus and quilty owl as plushies :D
That "quilted" owl is indeed cute, but it's knitted, not quilted. (Says the person who's done some quilting, and can't knit to save her life.
That owl!
Aww! I think the sloth looks as if it just woke up, wondered where it was, and how the flock it got on a slab of astro turf ...a.k.a. "frosting"...Sure is cute!!! (Mmmm...chocolate ganache...??...swoon...)
=^-.-^=
No, the owl in no. 3 is Eeyore’s best friend. Oh, bother. . . . .
The string is tied to the elephant's tail! lol
my teeth are aching from the cuteness here.
The bunny taking a shower is A-MAZ-ING-LY executed - look at those water drops coming out of the shower head!!
The textured owl has both quilted and knit pieces - which makes it even more glorious. And the elderly owl has the most knowing expression on his face.
The waving puppy and the panda are also stinking cute. And well done to boot.
thanks for the smiles this morning.
Cuteness overload!
I initially thought the puddle next to Bunny's bathtub was a pair of fuzzy flip-flops, and I "squeed" on Jen's behalf. :)
I particularly like these because they are not based on some cartoon characters. They are truly original.
I’ve missed your posts! This was hilarious!!!
"Because he's seen things, man. He's seen things..."
Like all the blobby ... things... that the wreck bakers who make the "fluffy dog" cakes started as soon as they saw that picture.
SQUEE!
That is all.
I need to make the sloth for my daughter!
These are all adorable. But technical was spelled correctly before he started intentionally misspelling it. You know, those "three times in a row", those times were correct, so I don't know why he said they were misspelled.
These are soo cute!! Thank you for sharing these cakes they are absolutely stunning! A couple months ago I just started making cakes that you would find on the dessert menu of restaurants and hopefully one day I'll gain the knowledge to make one of these fantastic cakes! If your interested in the cakes I make you can check them out here: https://tinyurl.com/ybf29yls
That bunny in the bathtub just beats anything you've ever had, or ever will have, in this site.
Until next week, at any rate.
Those owls!! The sloth! The puppies!
Okay, so all of them.
I read the #1 title first before scrolling down to see the picture. Scared a bunch of colleagues bursting out with laughter.
Wow, what beautiful decorating. Thanks John, for the pictures and witty text.
The one question I have is: why does the Chinese panda have what resembles part of the Japanese flag behind him/her? I know China loans pandas to other zoos. So, I guess it could be a visiting panda.
Just FYI - #4 is a birthday cake with Hebrew text - it says "Coral is 9"!
The pink kitten in #4 is not drowning. The photo is just angled so it's hard to see her hind quarters. If you look on the right you can see her back paw.

That Bunnnneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! OMG, too cute. Too gawjus. I don't even like cake--don't stone me here, or revoke my CakeWrecks Groupie card--but I would fight off anyone who tried to EAT that cake. That bunny is just ALL THAT.
Simply awesome. I have no idea how the folks that make those, do what they do, but this blog is always the high point of my Sunday.
They are all so stinking cute. I agree. And then I think about the fact that all of those forking adorable animals had to be cut up and eaten. Duff Goldman got it right when he had to make that giant elephant cake. No one should cut up a human or animal to eat it, even if it is cake. It's disturbing.
