I've known a few 90-year olds that would have suited that cake, but... let's not stereotype the elderly! Somebody must still be sweet and happy.

I mean, who wouldn't want a cake to celebrate the day they take their yearly bath? And to celebrate the day they built a birdhouse (All the kids are shortening it to "bird h" nowadays). And... ok, I got nothin' for the of them.

How have so many cake decorators misspelled that word? Especially since most of these look like they came from bakery departments in grocery/big box stores. They could just walk to the greeting card isle and check the birthday section if they were confused...
After listening to the way some people speak, I'm willing to bet all of these cakes are spelled phonetically.
These decorators should have gone for the plastic plaque or pick option. No way to mess up the spelling on those, right? (Yeah, I have been reading this blog for years. I know the answer 😂😂)

@Starknight - Naturally it takes a good deal of pencil to say a long thing like that.
I worked in a supermarket bakery for 16 years. These cakes were not written on by bakery employees. This is what happens when a customer comes in after hours (we always closed the bakery at 7 pm) and insists that someone in the store needs to write on the cake they picked out. This is never a good idea. Don't do this. As for the misspellings, this is what happens when you bully the Produce Guy who speaks little (and writes less) English into writing Happy Birthday on a cake. This is a bad idea, don't do it. These cake buyers have only themselves to blame. If there isn't an actual bakery person there to write on a cake, go to the baking aisle and get the happy birthday candles or sugar decorations and put them on yourself haha! There were many times in my 16 years where I was the only one there and had to take a lunch, leaving the bakery unguarded, and came back to find a random deli or produce associate butchering a cake. I would just get a new cake out, write on it, and take the ruined one to the break room...hmmmm...maybe they were doing it on purpose?
Oh man that Grace. Let's hope she couldn't read the handwriting lol. I was waiting for one to say that too since they manage to spell it every way but the right way.
@Elaine - I will buy your explanation for most of those, but there are at least two of them that are obviously by bakery employees who still managed to get it wrong.
I'm talking about the double-icing one that says "Happy Birtcay" (if you squint) and also Grace's cake, which from the spacing and handwriting quality is definitely someone with training, though their Rs and Ts need a lot of work.
