What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

New Discoveries in the Animal Kingdom

I believe that all new scientific discoveries should be announced via cake, don't you?

[pushing back glasses and consulting clipboard] Ladies and gentlemen, I'm proud to present...

The Majestic Bagel-Nosed Falcon of Uganda!

Or it might be a fish. Fish...falcon...you know. Whatevs.

[Shuffling papers] Next we have...

The Majestic Happy Chicken-Footed Spiny-Backed Slime Devil.
(Watch out; they spit.)

We're still working on the scientific name for this one:

So for now let's just call it the Majestic Coiled Crap Hound.
(I think that has a real ring to it, don't you?)

Here we have a particularly colorful specimen:

The Majestic Disco Newt! Let's pause a moment to admire his beautiful plumage.

Right. That's long enough.

And finally, we have...

The Majestic Three-Toed Four-Eyed Whiskered Zebra Toad.
(Yeah, you heard me. ZooBorns, eat your heart out.)

Thanks to Kelly D., Kit R., Caitlin B., Jordan J. and Donald L., who are all, er, majestic.

I kinda like the Disco Newt. He (?) reminds me of a colorful toy from childhood.

I've been privately using "Coiled Craphound" as an insult for some time.

#4 looks like the Simon game we used to play as kids. Maybe its a decent name for a Disco Newt?

June 22, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterBluebonnet

ACTUALLY, the last one looks like a Twelve-Toed 4 EWZT...but I'm not a zoologist....(and I don't play one on TV), so, pay no attention to the clown behind the curtain!
=^~.-^=

@Moira I was wondering if that's what Disco Newt is supposed to be. I had a Simon game in the 80s that was made to look like a critter of some sort (I think it was supposed to be a turtle) and it was extremely similar to that cake. Maybe it's a flashback cake! A very obscure flashback cake!

DISCO NEWT is my favorite!!
And I now have a new swear word-- "coiled crap hound"

June 22, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterSuzie Swims

The top one says "Chocolate".... Uhm, so it's a Cocoa Bagle-nosed Falcon-Fish of Uganda. Of course those have been extinct since the great chocolate crop failure of 1957, but nostalgia is really in right now.

Majestic indeed

June 22, 2017 | Unregistered Commentertabby

Yeah but do they taste good?

June 22, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterHeavensentme5

That disco newt does remind me of Simon. I loved that game as a kid lol. At least it doesn't look as scary as that crap hound. Bleh lol.

Inconceivable!

June 23, 2017 | Unregistered Commenterjeliecam

Clearly an armadillo.

These are great! I love seeing new animals 😂

Are we sure that #3 isn't a Poo Pug?? Of course DH thinks it's a chocolate ShihTzu (Shi*-Zoo)

June 23, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterbelovedbyHim

My husband and I both agree that no. 3 is a Naked Chocolate Mole-rat.

June 23, 2017 | Unregistered Commentersue

That Crap Hound looks like a tardigrade, especially in the feet.

June 24, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterChris Staffa

Crapadillo.

June 26, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterKelly

I'm pretty sure Disco Newt is a misidentified rare Beach Balligator, though.

June 26, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterErin

I don't know why, but the Majestic Disco Newt reminds me of something out of "Fraggle Rock."
