Something Here Doesn't Add Up
June 3, 2015 We all know Wreckerators have trouble with the English and the spelling and whatnot.
(I don't know why they have trouble with the English, but they do.)

Wow. The Hello Kitty and 30 cakes would have never made it to this site without their number-y errors. Their decorations are actually nicely done. It's what I keep telling my (multiple-math-degree-bearing) husband -- math is evil!
That first cake look Like E0 as in Captain Eo the attraction at Disneyland Park instead of 30!

I saw a Tumblr post the other day that said "It took me 16 years to realize that we write 1st, 2nd, 3rd... because that's how the word ends." Perhaps we need to explicitly state this to people or something?
Maybe the "1/4 of a century" one is telling her how much time she has left? Hmmm, that's not very good either, is it.

Also, they spelled Jayne's name wrong. The Hero of Canton loves him some Hello Kitty.
For the last cake - at least they have the apostrophe in the proper place. Can't have everything.

because then it ends up being used by people who can't correctly differentiate between letters & numbers in the first place, and who foolishly think it's appropriate to interchange 3 & E in all writings.
Actually, on second thought, I think "E0" might've been an attempt to "fix" the cake. Perhaps the baker had arranged the cupcakes as "03" & already begun frosting them when he realized that it was supposed to be 30, so he turned the cake board around & finished the piping, thinking no-one would notice the now-backward 3.
In either case, I hope Joe still had a happy "birtnolay"....whatever that is.

I know, I'm contradicting that statement just by explaining it.
You see, back when I joined the internet community, the old hands talked in "mysterious" letter/number/ascii mix-ups & no-one stopped to explain what they meant.
As a newbie you either figured it out for yourself or you didn't learn it at all, & figuring it out yourself required using your brain & thinking skills.
So the very act of figuring out leetspeak, proved that you'd earned the right to use it & had the sense to appreciate the difference between leetspeak & correct english.
Now, I see 3's being substituted for e's willy-nilly everywhere by fools who never learned the correct english in the first place; they may be speaking 1337, but they are still just n008s. What is the internet coming to nowadays?
On the other hand, without those fools who never learned correct english out there making spelling, grammer, & critical-thinking mistakes.....there might not be a Cake Wrecks at all!
So I guess there's a bright-side to the vulgarization of leetspeak.

#1: A CCC would not be *my* first choice for a 30th birthday (or any other), but that's just me. Especially when you put the '3' on the right side of the board (to be able to use that nice straight edge as a guide) and don't realize until after the paving contractor has applied the frosting, making it impossible to transpose them.
#2: The proposed 300-year century pretty much spelled the end of Common Core Chronology.

#6: This one is conflicting. Sure, minus 500 for putting the stencil on back-to-front, but proper use of "you're" ought to be worth at least 501 points for rarity. Net score: 1.
I'll be honest with you. After talking to the public all day on the phone at my job, I'm not astounded by all the errors that abound... I'm actually astounded that more than 10% of orders are done correctly!!
