"Words" Cannot Express How Funny This Is

Tiffany C. writes,
"Our school ordered this for our staff end-of-year party. [...] She told them she wanted words on the cake, and then gave a few examples."
Aaaaand... they got this:
That's supposed to be "Dream" on the lower left, of course, but I bet all you teachers could use a dram or two about now. Why is it blank in the middle? And why is "Do" the only word not in quotes? Hmm, let's "think."
Thanks to Tiffany for the words to giggle by.

I trust the cake was NOT supplied by an alumnus.
" Post"................................................................................................................ !!!
"Laugh"................................................... "Humorous"

There once was a baker of blue
Who used "Words" like "Believe," "Dram," and Do
She just didn't "Think"
And that caused quite a stink.
I think that it should have, don't you?
All it needs is a Shiba Inu in the center looking off into the distance. (Is that meme still relevant?)
A dram is better than a dam. (/Huxley)
Looking at this site every day has put a deep fear in me of ever, ever ordering a cake with anything written on it.
Love the limmerick Sharyn!
The Impossible Dram
(With apologies to “The Man of La Mancha”
To “Dram”…the impossible dram…
To “Think”…the unthinkable thought….
To “Believe”…with unbearable hope…
To “Words”…what the brave dare not say
To Do…the undoable Do
To love…being the baker you are
To try…when your customer asks you
To make…something not so bizarre…
‘Tis my request…a few simple words…
But it seems so hopeless, like it’s for the birds,
To just do it right, without question or pause…
To be willing to follow directions for a customer’s cause…
And I hope that they’ll make it all blue, that is my fervent request,
So my heart will lie peaceful and calm,
When it’s served to my guests….
And the world will be better for this:
That one man, scorned and covered with “words,”
Still strove, with his last ounce of courage,
To “Dram”…the impossible dram….
Today my baby graduates from 8th grade. She wants to plan a party for this weekend. We'll see how that goes. Maybe I should order her a cake and see what happens.
Sharyn and Suebee lol. As for the cake so close but no cigar
Dram shop laws all teachers need to know before serving their students. LOL
Surprisingly a very attractive looking cake despite the bizarre interpretation of what the client desired.
Ewwww, why don't bakers tell customers that they'd be way happier with a white cake with blue writing? There is nothing good about teachers with blue teeth and green poo. @Sharyn, the more I see Happy Vagina the more I love it. It may be Stockholm Syndrome, but now I want to put it on my sister's baby shower cake. And I know that I seem obsessed (I have to praise Sharyn almost daily), but the comments are half the reason I spend every morning on Cake Wrecks:)
I "Think" the baker had a "Dram" before she thought out what "Words" to put on the cake and I "Believe" this was the best she could DO.
She must have been seeing spots which will always make one feel a little blue.
Without the quotation marks and maybe moving the DO to the center it might be ok. Except "words" probably shouldn't be on the cake either...should have stayed with the think, dream, imagine, do combo. Don't leave choices to the decorator hahaha
Loud noises!
I have to say that I think this one is on the person who placed the order. Who tells a baker they want words on the cake without saying exactly what they want? "She told them she wanted words on the cake, and then gave a few examples." Examples? She's lucky the cake didn't say "Just put some words on it and junk. I don't know what. Something inspirational"
i think the boss was "at a loss for words." lol if they worked for her, she may have been demoted or fired.
That's exactly what it needs in the middle, Miff!
I'm amused that the spelled believe correctly and missed dream. At least the dots are sort of cute, even if they'll turn everyone's lips and tongues blue.
Those who can, teach.
Those who can't, decorate cakes.
Reminds me of this speech from Always Sunny :

@Jodee: my baby cupcake graduates from preschool next week, and I am in a total puddle about it. I've been a SAHM since we moved to the US 11 years ago, and I have never been at home without at least one small person at home with me. I suspect the bliss of being able to go to the bathroom on my own will fade rapidly, leaving just an empty and quiet house... *sniff*
I'm with Craig on this cake. Leaving a wreckerator to fill in the blanks is a recipe for disaster, albeit a highly enjoyable one!
Quotation abuse -
It's time to emphasize how
"sincere" it can be.
Word to your baker.
At first glance, I thought "Dram" was supposed to be "Drama", because we all know there is plenty of that in school too!
Good comment day (as always) everybody! Mel, Sharyn and SuBee you always rock. But my award for the best comment of the day goes to CBushLite. Hee!
"words". Learn them.
@Craig ~ Theardare's tail is twitching. Even if I do mostly agree with you. ;-)
@RachelCrazyMum ~ I'm not a SAHM, although I have all the respect in the world for those who are. Your job is much harder than mine. Tomorrow is officially the last day and on Thursday I start the countdown until school starts again. Summer is great but I work full time and my schedule doesn't really change in the summer.
@Tamatha ~ I totally heard Vanilla Ice!
Lol well after seeing that cake I bet the staff ran for the hills not wanting to deal with summer school. Wreckerators need to be forced to go back to summer school lol.
I guess He is just obsessed with color blue.. like me :)
Honestly. Why the the H E double hockey sticks do people even bother any more? Given the collective common sense of "professional" cake decorators, one may as well buy a sheet cake from a supermarket, or bake one at home, and DIY with a tube of store-bought glaze.
As the saying goes, If you want anything done right...
Dynamic Random Access Memory? Is there some slang meaning that I am missing?
In Norway we have a city called Drammen (-en is the same as "the") and because the city was one of the ugliest and essentially just a big road crossing, we had a saying (loosly translated): "It's better with a dram an hour, than an hour in Drammen". The city has had a major facelift the last ten years, so the saying won't apply anymore.
There is actually nothing on this cake that makes sense, with or without a story..hmmm
Really good.
