What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Take A Wild Guess Day!

There's really only one way to celebrate this, so...

TAKE A WILD GUESS, GUYS:

Just so you know, I honestly and sincerely have no idea what this is supposed to be. I know what it LOOKS like, of course - (A baby shower cake. Eh? EH?!) - but it's so badly done, with those inexplicable pom-poms and zig-zags - and why is it blue? - that I just... I can't even... no.

Just... no.

What's that, John? Today is also "That Sucks Day"?

Aaaannnnd SCENE.

Thanks to Jennifer C. for submitting this with no details whatsoever, and also for proving once again that I couldn't make this stuff up even if I tried.

I'm going with a Caduceus. Yeah, those Greeks had great imaginations.

It's a First Birthday cake for a boy. "Make it blue and white, with a big 1 in the middle". The random bits around the edge are because the customer has paid for a certain amount of icing* and it has to go on there somehow!
*(usual rate is 2.37lb per square foot of cake)

MAYBE it's an eastern-european church.

It's Elsa from Frozen making snowflakes out of thin air. YES!! I can decipher wrecks! (Wait, is this a good thing?)

Obviously, it's a headless blue mermaid. With...fish swimming nearby. How can you not see that?

:D

If you turn the photo upside down, you'll see part is out of frame...my best guess is that this was a cross for Easter that looks alarming when cropped and inverted. o_O

Oh come on. You post an enormous picture of a penis cookie and then you don't approve my comment calling it an enormous penis cookie?

April 17, 2014 | Unregistered CommenterAnn

Um, no, not a cross. Sorry. No one was trying to make this look like anything. It's pretty easy to follow the curvature of the cookie and the container to see that it ends where the picture does.

That is EXACTLY what perverted thing you think it is. It is an excited phallus, captured mid-"celebration". The white stuff is the result of said celebration. I know a fellow perv's art when I see it. Must have been disgruntled, much like some Disney animators lol!

I see a blue (ice) dragon - a view of the face as seen from above and its breath is condensing and making little puffs of cloud ...

Maybe some parachuters (that for some unexplainable reason have blue heads) that got caught in some kind of tornado/lightning storm/water spout . . . Weird . . .

WAIT, WAIT, WAIT!!!!!!!!!! IT'S A ONE, IT'S A ONE!!! Poor kid who got this for his first birthday (it's blue so it's definitely for a boy). But I figured it out !! (:
