What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Drunken DeBOTCHery

The great thing about wedding cakes these days is how they incorporate the couples' personalities. You know, the things they love and value, the things they enjoy doing together...

IN CASE OF BEER EMERGENCY, TOPPLE CAKE

"'Til sobriety do us part."

And who could forget this classic groom's cake?

Classy with a capital K.

And hey, not only is Bud Light good for hosing off patios and cleaning spark plugs, it's also grrrrr-REAT for smashing into the cakes of people you don't like much:

Take THAT, Wally.

Pro Tip: Writing "IGLOO" on the side only tells us just how far you missed the mark, bakers. Next time, try "last-minute replacement." You'll look like a STAR.

Parents, if you name your kid "Beer," I'm pretty sure no amount of Welch's sparkling grape juice is going to reverse the damage:

Although I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to shake the hand of the person who put this display together.

Of course, I imagine any parent of a child named Beer would find a cake like this sort of inevitable:

Still, not sure I'd believe 'em, Dad:

Big sloppy thank you kisses to Jennifer J., Laurie, Serena M., Jen, Erin M., Lauren K., & Kati B. And hey. Hey. HEY. Guys. I like, TOTALLY love youallsomuch. Seriously. Now someone gimmie a bucket.

@DB yeah, you said it first- I forgive you since you’re so funny, though. (grumbles: but I wanted to do the 99 bottles song)

@Sharyn under mel’s tattoo add mine: “freakin’ awesome”

@Anna B yup, had to read it three times!! “*claps hands in a circular motion*”

However “Snarki” wins the interwebs for the day! Wooo hooooo

I think all of these wreckerators personally tested and emptied the beer cans/bottles they featured in their cakes. Many times. Extended R&D, you know.

@Sharyn: Brilliant again!

Oh my what a fun bunch of beer cakes. I kind of like the drunken bride and groom lol. If that is what they wanted that is what they got at least. At least no drunken aliens popped out of them..yet.

@Kaytie, I too, long for small-town life, because of the benefits you cite (as a guy, I wouldn't necessarily expect anyone to change my tire for me, but you know what I mean). I agree that 'city folk' can seem cold and insensitive at times, but often, they just need time to thaw. Though I've never been there, I'm sorry you had a bad experience in that other state.

I find that there is not much that goes wrong that can't be helped by a glass of sweet tea among friends after church.

May the rest of the week go better.

Careful what you wish for...small town indeed...how small do you want to go? I live in a community of less than 200 people (80 kids in our K-12 school, about 15 of which actually live in town) Yeah everybody knows your name and would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it, but they also know EVERYTHING about you! We have a small grocery store, bank, post office and insurance/liquor store.

What dangles from heels?
Silvered bra? Metal codpiece?
Another cuppa?

Rats - Patti beat me on "What's hanging from Barbie's leg?" I thought maybe it was a bra!

Kudos to Sharyn, as usual. Major Star potential here - I see America's Got Talent in your future!
and DB's was good too - very apropo, for sure! :-)

Kaytie, dear, don't let 'em make you mad at the world. There are many nice, helpful people out there & I hope some of them cross your path real soon. Did you read about the 9-yr old boy who gave away a Disney trip to the family of a fallen soldier? The Golden Rule is not dead yet, not when children are willing to do such wonderful things.

Clearly, that last wreck is a Paris Hilton cake. A coke wreck on a cake wreck, kind of fitting, don't you think? ;-)

Hey girl, thanks for the shout out and big sloppy kisses :) Love love love your site - gives me a laugh whenever I need it night or day! I didn't submit any of these photos in this post though :S Hope you got the one I sent you :) Cheers!

It says "Igloo" because the beer is supposed to be in a cooler. Igloo is a brand of coolers...
