A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

I don't own any Apple devices. (Well, except for my wife's iPod Touch which her parents gave her when they didn't use it anymore.) Still, Steve changed the computer world in so many ways that the non-Apple computer I'm using today wouldn't be the same had his life taken a different path. RIP Steve.
Heh... we had an Apple IIe when they first came out, and, actually, this is kinda what it looked like. Except that it wasn't brown.

'My' first computer (aka, the one the family replaced and dumped in the basement until I grabbed it) was a Mac +. At age ten, I could type faster than it could bring characters up on the screen. I was very proud of myself.
Since then I've become a penguin fanatic, but that's a different story. ;-)

The saddest part for me is that I was so busy today that I found out about the death of Steve Jobs on Cake Wrecks after midnight instead of through the news. Great man, great leader. Sorry to know he is gone.
Thank you, Steve. I, too, am hugging all my mac devices. My brother died 2 yrs ago from Pancreatic Cancer, also. It is one of the most painful cancers. It is vicious. My heart goes out to Steve's wife and family.

These days I usually view CakeWrecks on my iPad or iPhone, right after I check my email, and don't usually think twice about how marvelous it is that I'M COMMUNICATING WORLDWIDE FROM A HANDHELD DEVICE. Really, that is a modern-day marvel, and we take it for granted. Thanks, Steve.

I still miss the Mac I had in the eighties (you never forget your first love,) and can't believe how much I depend on my iphone. Many thanks to a man who truly changed how we live.
Thank you for this. It really shows me how much Steve influenced people by the response his death has gotten. I personally was very surprised and sad to learn of his death, but I know he will live on in the companies he helped start and I can't wait to see what new products and cartoons come from them.

Thanks to the iPhone, my entire life fits in my back pocket --friends, movies, tunes, radio, calendar, games, books, newspapers, internet, flashlight...oh, yeah, and the ability to phone home. It's the first electronic device that I ever felt I wouldn't be able to give up and still be happy; it has saved my sanity for thousands of hours stuck in hospital rooms with my kids (their sanity, too!). RIP, Steve Jobs. You've certainly made my world better.
Love the cake. :) I became an Apple fan in 1978 when my family got an Apple II+ (which still works). My life was made so much better by Steve Jobs and the people he inspired to create so many glorious things. I will miss all his enthusiasm and new ideas. R.I.P. Steve.

I'm a PC user but I have an iPod and I know so many other devices are based on Steve's ideas. The man was brilliant and we'll all miss his genius.

Wow, how sad. Sad for those who knew him, and a great reminder to us all of how fragile life is.
Amazing that a college drop-out could start a multi-million dollar company from his garage without a $500 million+ hand-out from the government. How did he ever THINK of those things, and then bring them to fruition? It just boggles the mind! RIP Steve Jobs, and thank you!

He was an amazing person. All computers and phones have been changed because of him, no matter what brand they are.
He changed the world with a garage start-up. How many other people can say that?
That's not a badly rendered apple (lower-case "a") but a horrible Apple! At the very least, they could have used the vintage rainbow apple logo. I gotta say, though, the general shape isn't too far off from an Apple II. It had that undersized-looking integrated keyboard. The color is wrong though. It should be puke bisque, not poo brown. It also (usually) wasn't surrounded by rabbit turds, but it was fugly! It was also my generations first real contact with personal computers. I didn't have one, but I knew a lot of people who did.
Not an Apple/Mac person myself, but I do respect the innovations Jobs and others like him have created.

I have been unbelieveably sadden by this loss, so this post was a welcome chuckle. I have been an Apple fan for most of my life and the other day we tallied up our household's current devices:

2 iPod Touches, Gen 1 (deemed "ghetto" by the teenagers)
