Sunday Sweets: So Stinkin' Cute
This week we're featuring some of the sweetest, cutest, most adorable, lovable, um... [consulting thesaurus] darling, bewitching, and fetching baby animal cakes you ever will see. Why? Well, if you must know, I'm feeling a bit sensitive this week.
This is john, by the way.
So, let me just get my box of tissues and we'll do this thing. Starting with Jen's favorite:
The hand-painted shading here is amazing. And the animals are adorable. And the lion isn't eating the zebra or the giraffe. So it's a win-win-win.
See how the monkey and giraffe cower in fear as the mighty tiger stalks his prey? Can you feel the tension? Can. You. FEEL IT?!?! No?
And now... sweet sleeping dragon!
Awwww. Okay. *sniff* I'm all verklempt. *sniff* I promised myself I wouldn't cry...
[blowing nose]
Hey! Look! Pandas!
Literally. I think the lack of neck really adds to the adorabletude, don't you?
So. Cool. Jen says this reminds her of some Lisa Frank folders she had in middle school. Which she claims is a huge compliment. So there.
And get this: this is Aletha B.'s first cake. Yes, really! Mike, Duff, and Bronwen better watch out, 'cuz Aletha B.'s coming, and she's got a Cthulhu.
Adorable. And hip. Oh. Yeah.
Another of Jen's favorites:
a unicorn with a comb-over:
You're welcome.
One's for little kids:
UPDATE!!!! The random number generator hath spoken! The winners are:
GrammaR @ 2:20 PM for the first book and
Ai @ 8:51 PM for the second!
Please email your addresses to comments (at) cakewrecks.com so we can mail out your prizes. And thanks to everyone for your great comments!

I absolutely LOVE the baby cthulhu cake and can't believe that's her first modeled cake. She's got tons of talent!
And I love the 2nd zooborn book!
Cheers,
Karin
(Also, if I win I'd like the second book please)
Wow, looking at all these sweetened my Cheerios, for sure! I must find a better sound to make than "Awwwwwww". These cakes were scrumdidillyumptious!!!
Either book would make me happy, but since I have a new baby girl, I'd probably go with the first if I had my druthers.
I need, need, need one of these to keep my cakewrecks book company!
Adorable cakes! Baby Cthulu was my favourite. Kind of like the Zooborn book for babies is my favourite (I rock the segues too). I'd give the book to my nephews because they're cute babies (again!).
I love todays Sweets! They are too darling for words!
I would be happy winning either book. I have an animal-crazy niece who loves to read; so, either book would be wonderful to win!
Thanks for the opportunity!

wv = ingst: it would sure be hard to ingst those cakes!
The teddy bears, the teddy bears!! Too cute. And baby Cthulu! I like the first book.
The second one! and it is totally appropriate there is an adorable fennec fox on the cover! I love fennec foxes! :)
check out the ears on the second book... i am faint from all the cuteness . *squee*
I love the second book. Zoo Borns is so wonderful! As great as the cakes!
the second book :]
The "fuzziness" of the teddy bears is a great effect. How did they do it? 'Cuz fuzzy wuzzy isn't very nice on the tongue, so it's got to be frosting or something, right?
I'd like the zooborns book for everyone, but would happily take the kids version if that's what you got left, to read with my god daughter.
I want the second one! -deborah
I'd love the second book. This Sunday Sweets page was adorable...what do you think my chances are of convincing DH we should have another baby just so I can have cakes like that for the shower and first birthday?
I would like the second zooborns book. I hope it is as cute as the cakes today!
I'm in squee overload! The unicorn! The pandas!
I'd love either book, but I'm an adult (allegedly) so I suppose I'd choose the 2nd one
I. Need. The panda cake. Need it.
And I love the second Zooborns book. It's (wait for it...) awwwww-some!
I Love both books!
My feelings can only be summed up by a lengthy keysmash.
*deep breath*

Ahem. If I get a book, I may audibly keysmash. Yeah I don't know what that would sound like either.
OMGosh, the kiddies would love the Zooborn book.
And I can't get over the unicorn and his comb over. It's stinking precious!!
I think the nesting pandas just take the cake! Thanks for sharing these beautiful designs.
Either book would be great...and I'll be giving it to my niece, who wants to be a "puppy and kitty doctor" (her words) when she grows up!
*snort* at the combover comment. That'll be a classic ;) I can't decide which is the cutest though, they are amazing!
As far as the book draw goes, I would love to throw my name in the hat for the second zooborn book!
I like the first book...because my son was just born on Tuesday and he needs to expand his library :)
The baby Cthulhu cake is amazing. I guess I need to learn to effectively decorate cakes before this time next year, because my little guy definitely needs one of those!
I prefer the second!
Carmen
Both books are adorable. Cakes are adorable too. I love baby the Cthulu cake,my brother would be so proud that someone made that.
I like the second book.. :) and the unicorn is fantastic! :)
i will also note that i had to order a cake the other day for my mother's birthday. i wanted something with dragonflies on it. And, it took every bit of self-control i possessed not to order a cake with the words "purple dragonflies" piped onto it in green frosting. :D
How cute! I'd love either of the books
awwwww this is possibly my favourite sunday sweets post...except maybe the movie ones...or the harry potter one...or the doctor who one...there's too many amazing cakes! thanks for keeping up the blog, actually makes my days so much more fun! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME :D
p.s. both those zooborn books look awesome!
That baby cthulhu cake is pretty brilliant. I'd prefer the grownup book, but would be happy with either.
Those cakes are so cute!
Please enter me for either book...my niece would love them!

I must find a way to keep my daughter from seeing today's post. When she sees this much cuteness she may try to decorate the nursery for Bean (my future grandchild) in fondant!
Would love the kids' book if I win.
I think the first Zooborn book is perfect! I have to say my I'm with Jen, my favorite cake was the first one. So peaceful...since you know the lion was controlling himself.
LOVE baby Chthulu! Also would love either of the Zooborns books. They're one of my favorite websites.
Those are clearly Japanese tarepandas.

Which I have loved for YEARS.
Zooborns? Cake Wrecks? Together under one digital roof?? Oh PINCH ME!! What an awesome way to top off a week spent getting to know my weapoms-grade-adorable newborn son after lo those many months of him inside me...oh heck, I think I'm'a gonna asplode in rainbows!! (double ones, even!) ;-)
Which book...which book...um, the second? The first? Who cares, it's Zooborns!!
These are absolutely wonderful Sunday Sweets! They always are, but these are super great. And my kids' lovies were all represented - giraffe, tiger and zebra - and all so cute! (I can't overuse the term "cute" this week - because they're all just so cute. Cute-aliscious in fact.)
Either of those books would be wonderful, but I'd probably go with the kids' book if I won.
OMG! OMG! OMG! Cute animals cakes AND a chance to win a Zooborn book? Can my Sunday get any better? (I guess so, if I would win the second book for grown ups with a kid's heart!)
I would love the second zooborn book for my son.

today's post made me smile--and I needed that--either book would be welcome!
The children's one...I have four kids. The borscht and eucalyptus comment made my morning...
Pick me please! I'd like the 2nd book... having a baby fennec fox on my coffee table would be so delightful!
Both books look super cute. If i had to choose I'd like the second. Adorable cakes today. Thanks
So cute! I'd like the second one, but would be happy to win either!
These cakes are absolutely adorable... I love giraffes so the giraffe cake is my favorite. I love both of the Zooborns books... Zooborns is my other favorite website!!!
-Jessie
I heart the pandas! My little girls would love the kids book.
So cute! I'd like the second one, but would be happy to win either!
Oh my god the cuteness! *squee* Personally I would adore the second book.
LOVE this post and I think the Teddy Bear Cake is the sweetest!
I would like the second Zooborn book -- for the rest of us, even though I do have the immaturity of a child.

They both are cute... after looking further I love the second book just because of the cover. Awww!
