Sunday Sweets: So Stinkin' Cute
This week we're featuring some of the sweetest, cutest, most adorable, lovable, um... [consulting thesaurus] darling, bewitching, and fetching baby animal cakes you ever will see. Why? Well, if you must know, I'm feeling a bit sensitive this week.
This is john, by the way.
So, let me just get my box of tissues and we'll do this thing. Starting with Jen's favorite:
The hand-painted shading here is amazing. And the animals are adorable. And the lion isn't eating the zebra or the giraffe. So it's a win-win-win.
See how the monkey and giraffe cower in fear as the mighty tiger stalks his prey? Can you feel the tension? Can. You. FEEL IT?!?! No?
And now... sweet sleeping dragon!
Awwww. Okay. *sniff* I'm all verklempt. *sniff* I promised myself I wouldn't cry...
[blowing nose]
Hey! Look! Pandas!
Literally. I think the lack of neck really adds to the adorabletude, don't you?
So. Cool. Jen says this reminds her of some Lisa Frank folders she had in middle school. Which she claims is a huge compliment. So there.
And get this: this is Aletha B.'s first cake. Yes, really! Mike, Duff, and Bronwen better watch out, 'cuz Aletha B.'s coming, and she's got a Cthulhu.
Adorable. And hip. Oh. Yeah.
Another of Jen's favorites:
a unicorn with a comb-over:
You're welcome.
One's for little kids:

I'll take either book. Every cake on this post is oh so awww.
How fun! If I'd win I'd love either one!
Those were all really adorable! Hard to think of Chthulu as cute, but she totally made it so!
Both of those Zooborn books are really cool, maybe I would prefer the second one. However, either of them would be welcome in my library and enjoyed by my entire family.
I'm the baker who created the tiger cake! My name is Theresa Gue. It was at the New York Cake Convention. His name was Lionel, for irony's sake.
After I finished reading this post and moved on to a new tab, something started niggling at me. And the something is this:
Koalas eat eucalyptus leaves, not pandas. Pandas eat bamboo. I mean I know your pandas are of the Russian Nesting variety, but eucalyptus trees grow in Australia so they're about as not-Russian as you can get...?
I would love the Zooborns book for adults, but either would be fantastic. The baby Cthulhu cake is wonderful! :D
Sarah
My boys would love that children's book. So cute!
The stacked Pandas/Binoculars were a little on the creepy side for me, but the rest were adorable.
Giraffe with no neck, seems to be missing the point, but cute nonetheless. The tigers all rock, because tigers DO.
Would be delighted with EITHER book. Love the baby tiger, love the big-eared whatever-that-is.
the second zooborn book!!!
Sara O.
My boys would love a book about baby animals!
i think the panda cake is the cutest thing ever! and the combover unicorn is the best sort of cupcake cake :) Meg

I love baby animals!
Though the unicorn with a combover was my absolute favorite this time.
The second Zoo book is adorable. I <3 sand foxes. When I worked at the zoo I used to go visit them constantly.
I love that giant eared baby on the second book!! I hope I win!
Sooo adorable! I would like the second book if chosen. Thanks!

I would love the first one to share with my daughter!
The second Zooborns book is the one for me!
Also, omg. Unicorn combover. I never knew I was missing that in my life until right now.
Oh, THE BABY WHITE TIGER BOOK!!! *sniff* I suddenly feel as if I cannot live without his adorable little innocent face.
My fingers, they are crossed.

Love the first book. Thanks!
Love. Love. Love. CakeWrecks.
My sister is having her first child in March, so I think the ZooBorns! would be a cute extra gift for her.
Ohhh my kids would love to see either one of those books. And I can't get over the cuteness of the Sunday Sweets.
Too cute for words! The cakes This week are amazing as always. I would love to have the second book.

i am so taken with these cakes today. each one is just oh-so-cute!!! i am unable to pick a favorite, tho the 1st, 2nd, and last really stand out for me. (especially all the polka dot work on the 2nd cake -- i am a sucker for that.)
oh, and all this cuteness AND a giveaway! that'd be awesome! (the first one please.)
That tiger is AMAZING, and I love the baby hippo!
I like the first book. :)
I really love your blog, though. ;)
I would love the second book. My boyfriend and I have been looking for the perfect coffee table book and what's better than a book of cute animals? We read cake blogs every day and we love your Sunday Sweets =]
I love baby cakes - especially since you know they're really for the adults, as one year olds don't generally appreciate the artistry that goes into something like that...
I'd love the kids Zooborn book - i makes a great gift!
- Susie SC
Would love the 2nd book for my little girls!
If I was ever going to have kids I am sure my husband would insist on baby chthulu. Too cute!
just in case-zooborn kids book!
TOO CUTE! All of these cakes are too cute for words! I would love to share either book with my niece but if given the choice- the first one!
Giraffe made of cake is much less smelly than giraffe made of giraffe. Also, I would love the book for big kids (#2)!
I think both books look wonderful, and the niece who's having a baby tomorrow would appreciate either...but my daughter says that baby foxes aren't nearly as cute when they're first born...so the first book, please. And thank you!
Yay for adorable animals. The panda cake was my favorite. Oh and the second book looked pretty adorable too :)
I love the Cthulu cake.
Adoramazing, thanks for sharing. I have a niece/nephew due any day now, so I'd love the kids book.
Everyone should have a baby unicorn with a combover! Or a handlebar mustache. You know...either or...
I like the book with the adorable dog on the front!
the first book, please, for my niece who's having a baby girl tomorrow!
so cute i can't stand it!!! loving the sleeping dragon and the comb over unicorn!
---the second book would put the cuteness in our house over the top!---
Baby Cthulu for the win! My mind is disintegrating into squishy goodness!
Regarding the giveaway: My kiddo would love the little kids' book.
I'd love the second Zooborn book. I can't wait to see the adorable-palooza inside!
The panda one is my favorite! I'd love to get the adult Zooborns book!
I LOVE those cakes! My kids are learning animal names and sounds so if I were to happen to win, the kids book would be GRRRR-EAT! :0P
