Sunday Sweets: So Stinkin' Cute

This week we're featuring some of the sweetest, cutest, most adorable, lovable, um... [consulting thesaurus] darling, bewitching, and fetching baby animal cakes you ever will see. Why? Well, if you must know, I'm feeling a bit sensitive this week.
This is john, by the way.
So, let me just get my box of tissues and we'll do this thing. Starting with Jen's favorite:
The hand-painted shading here is amazing. And the animals are adorable. And the lion isn't eating the zebra or the giraffe. So it's a win-win-win.
See how the monkey and giraffe cower in fear as the mighty tiger stalks his prey? Can you feel the tension? Can. You. FEEL IT?!?! No?
And now... sweet sleeping dragon!
Awwww. Okay. *sniff* I'm all verklempt. *sniff* I promised myself I wouldn't cry...
[blowing nose]
Hey! Look! Pandas!

Literally. I think the lack of neck really adds to the adorabletude, don't you?
So. Cool. Jen says this reminds her of some Lisa Frank folders she had in middle school. Which she claims is a huge compliment. So there.
And get this: this is Aletha B.'s first cake. Yes, really! Mike, Duff, and Bronwen better watch out, 'cuz Aletha B.'s coming, and she's got a Cthulhu.
Adorable. And hip. Oh. Yeah.
Another of Jen's favorites:

a unicorn with a comb-over:
You're welcome.

I'm amused to see, on the Odelia cake picture, that there is a "Curlz"-like font for Hebrew.
Not sure why that amuses me, but it does!
The Zooborns for babies! If I don't win it, I'm probably going to buy it anyhow!
Oh who am I kidding, I'm buying one for every little kid I know! :)
I just adore this website, and Sunday Sweets is my favorite. I should be in bed but I have to check it out before I can sleep!
I think the pandas are my favorites, but it's so hard to pick, so I won't.
1. My kids would adore either book. Woohoo!
2. Those pandas? In Hong Kong, they were called "pa dei hung." It meant...the panda that lies on the floor. LOL He was one of the characters that you could find on keychains, pencils, notebooks, pencil cases...anything sold in a stationary/school shop. I haven't seen him in ages! He was one of my favorites....
I may be too late but here's a comment anyway. I actually had to Google Chthulu and none of the results were as cute as that cake. Love to win the adult book.
*want* ZooBorn for older peeps! :)
Ooohh! My daughters would LOVE the first book.
Oh wow that teddy bear cake is incredible! I thought at first they were stuffed animals until I realized they really looked super authentic. Must have that cake for my birthday lol.
Darn! I missed the random picking window. :( We moved into our new house this weekend and just got our internet...and the first thing I did was come check out the Sunday Sweets. They've got me thinking about what we should do for our triplets' first birthday in seven months...is that enough time to plan???
Ahh, it's Tarepanda! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarepanda I love it!
I was also a Lisa Frank fan in middle school... I can definitely see that tiger in pink, purple and blue!
i would like to see a monkey cake wearing a crown!
I love the pandas. Not so sure about the tiger though.
I would prefer the second book if I had to pick, but I would love either of them!
I adore the Cuthulu cake! :D

Put me down as a fan of the second book - my rat terrier, Fred has ears just like that!

What, no epcot about the way John spelled "Chthulu" instead of "Cthulhu"? Or is everybody dyslexic? Or is it an on-going joke which I'm missing?
Herouth,
Bwoops.
All fixed.
