"You'll find he is a whiz of a wiz, if ever a wiz there was!"

I think someone was rolling in the poppy fields a liiittle too long before making this cake. I certainly can't imagine that the Emerald City has ever been portrayed with such a, shall we say, "male" point of view? (Get it? "Point"?) It certainly was erected a bit crookedly, but I won't penalize the decorator for that; he or she made sure that the magnificent seven up there did come in varying sizes. (I'm SO not going there...) And how unfortunate that the lighting reflects pink on the, er, "spires".
Lindsey T from CA, I'd say you struck gold with this find.

I love this site, I just really, really do. Hope you don't mind that I've linked to it from my own foodblog. Keep up the funny!
Well, what CAN I say that wouldn't get deleted? LOL
Hmmm. The yellow brick road is pretty well-executed!
I absolutely love your blog! I just stumbled upon it and have been laughing out loud in my office ever since. Genius.
Austin Powers' "Goldmember" vistis Oz...
....It's a "back massager" cake. *winkwink*
I was going to ask if they had to use anything as a form underneath to hold up the "spires". lol
Sure it's a cake? It looks like part of it was knitted and the rest flocked or covered in artificial turf. Maybe the spray kind you can get for model train sets...
I thought....GOLD - FINGER.
What's the scale of this masterpiece? Does um some 'little' man jump out of it?
My first thought was "Why are there gold-leafed bread sticks coming out of that cake?"
My seond thought was self deleted. Heh heh.
You know I grew up in Kansas... but I never knew the Emerald City was made hallmarked by a dildo factory.
Until I scrolled down to see the lower part of the cake, I was wondering how rabid a Babylon 5 fan you'd have to be to make a cake depicting Centauri genitalia.
I hope Dorothy and the gang brought spelunking gear.
It certainly was erected a bit crookedly
LOL Yes, yes it was "erected" a bit crookedly. They obviously put a lot of effort into the other decorations, I'm not sure why they did the equivalent of play-doh snakes for the fondant.
haha Austin Powers' "Goldmember" vistis Oz...classic x
It's not the size, love,
nor the color. It's all in
how many you have.
That cake looks like it's been covered in AstroTurf and then 7 pieces of silver spray-painted bread sticks were stuck on top! And if it is the Wizard of OZ, why silver & not emerald? And just where are Dorothy and friends? Off @ the Wicked Witch's Castle? Perhaps the buyer didn't want to shell out an extra $19.99 for plastic flotsam figures...
@Haiku Joy - Love it! Now I'm going to go back & cruise through all the old posts looking for your hidden gems of poetry... :-)
I think the "spires" on top look like tampons- the newer Tampax Pearl ones.
We would have a perfectly beautiful cake there- I mean look at the bottom part, and ESPECIALLY the yellow brick road, honestly very well executed- if not for the top. Aaaaaah, poor cake.
Wasn't the Emerald City, you know, Emerald? Someone has clearly never actually seen The Wizard of Oz.
I think I would have gone with cock eyed instead of crookedly. [Wink, wink]
