What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Picture This

So Shawna A. asked her bakery to make a cake just like this one from Pink Cake Box:

To make it easier, she even brought in a print-out of this picture. And, since she wanted her cake to say "Welcome Little Monkey" instead of "Happy Birthday," she was sure to cross that bit out. That way, there could be no confusion whatsoever, right?

Riiiight.

All in favor of banning the edible photo printer for all eternity, say "Oy VEY."

I think the "veys" have it, Shawna.

Oy, Vey, so say the least. Is there a school some place where people go to learn how to mess up a simple order? Some of these "decorators" are so stupid it's a wonder they can put on their own socks.

When I see Wrecks like this it makes me think I could go into cake decorating... er... I mean cake wreckorating!

ROTFMLAO - gives a whole new meaning to "literal"... Shawna "literally" got what she asked for!

Did you check out Pink Cake Box's website? You could do a month of Sunday Sweets just from that site alone! Gorgeous.

When I see wrecks like this, it makes me wonder what the cake tastes like. If the Wreckorator follows recipe directions like they do decorating directions? Well,l all I can say is "Oy Vey!".

At first I was confused. Then I saw how faded the picture was and I cringed, reminds me of the cake with the flast drive on it.

Lazy wreckerators once again. I cannot understand why they would think slapping edible paper on it would be fine. Not at all what the customer wanted. The writing though was very pretty lol.
