A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.
Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

OMG, Cake Wrecks and Gordon Ramsay?? Have I died and gone to heaven?!
..... I would suggest Ramsay do some sort of Bakery show, but I fear he would end up eliminating/educating too many Wrecktastic-bakeries and then where would we be?!
OMG. The "too" on the parents disowning the cake was perfect.
This whole thing was perfect, actually.
I'm racking my brains trying to figure out who Ugly Yelling Meme Guy is, and why I should care. I've seen captioned pics of him on /b/, but I can't imagine wanting to know anything about him.
I laughed so hard at the IRS comment! That was pure jen-eous (see what I did there?)!
" Who Let the Dogs Out"? Gee, thanks... I'd thought that had been finally erased from my brain... ((~whimper~))
I abhor Gordon Ramsay but love, LOVE, L-O-V-E this post! I'm LLLAH! (Literally Laughing Like A Hyena!)
Thanks, Jen.
@sendingtheclowns: HaHaHa, The Queen Mother's hat! And "more cracks than Mr. R's forehead." You are really on a roll today.
Oh khereva, I thought I was having a bad week. Do you need a hug?
@khereva: the "Ugly Yelling Meme Guy" is Gordon Ramsay, an egotistical, despotic British chef with several television shows, including "Hell's Kitchen", an elimination style, multi-weeks long cooking competition in which he screams, yells and cusses-out the competing chefs. I can only watch it for about 10 minutes before I want to start yelling & cursing at him. You're probably better off not knowing anything more about him. =D
@Degera: LOL!
@SuBee: Hugs. In fact, hugs all around! After all that yelling, I need some comfort.
@Granny K: I follow him on Twitter and I sent him a post (don't like the word "tweet"; birds do that) with a link since I know he would laugh and be flattered--he really DOES have a good sense of humor. He himself loves more than anybody to parody him. But I don't know if he will see it, since he's awfully busy with "Masterchef" just now.
I read this post this morning after a very bad start to my day. I smiled, a little.
Now it's the end of the day. I took photos of my photos that our local Applebee's used in their remodeling and posted my name on them. Then had birthday dinner and cake with a friend and his mom, who is fighting Stage 4 leiomyosarcoma and WINNING! Now I'm at home enjoying my third glass of wine and LOVING this post!
I LOVED the first two comments, as well as the IRS cooment. But @Steph, your comment takes the cake. A cake-off featuring 8-year-old Boy Scouts vs. the Wreckerators! I'll take the Boy Scouts any day.
dying laughing here!! :D fabulous post
OMG REALLY SERIOUS LOL
That first cake is absolutely vile. I don't ever want to associate cake with pus ever again.
Ahh. I was having a rough couple of days and seeing this just perked me right up again. It helped that I could actually hear his voice in my head as I read the captions lol. How I love his shows. I die laughing at his antics.
...and the sad little green half-cake may be the best executed cake in this post. Wow.
How about Gunney (R. Lee Ermey) as guest yeller?
"Drop and give me 25, maggot!"
"Uh, maggots can't do push-ups, sir."
@Just Andrea, I used to think going in Room 101 was a good idea. That is, before...The Troubles.
We had a cake from Publix that truly did have the parchment paper left in between the layers. after laughing and being rather puzzled it was pulled out and the cake eaten. the store manager was aghast and refunded the cost of the cake and begged our pardon. the cake was the tip of a comedy of errors that befell a service award ceremony, luckily everyone involved has a wonderful sense of humor!
Oh goodness, you have outdone yourself! The memes are hilarious, thank you for the giggle!
Jen, you are just the best!
Subee, you know, I could use one right about now. Thanks. I still don't want to know who Ugly Yelling Meme Guy is, though.
I've never commented here before. (As far as I can remember) But that last photo comment! XD Please make more posts like this in the future. Please! With sugar and cake (that is not a lie) and future failures on top? :3
I can't believe the Ramsay captions, not one is bleeped out. :)
That being said, this one was funny enough that if I'd been eating cake, I'd have snorted icing through my sinuses. It's why I never eat or drink when I visit your blog.
