Sunday Sweets: WHO LOVES YA?!
To be honest, peeps, I wasn't going to do Doctor Who Sweets this weekend, only because I've already featured most of the best ones over the years.
But then I came to my senses.
After all, I grew up on Doctor Who. My first convention ever was a Doctor Who event - where John Pertwee patted my head - and a few months ago I received a side-hug from my favorite Doctor, Peter Davison. [Still squeeing over that, btw.]
Besides, John and I managed to find a few 'Who Sweets we haven't posted yet, so you get the ultimate Best-Of mix sure to make your knees go all wibbly-wobbly. So, without further ado:
The 13 Best Doctor Who Cakes Of All Time (So Far!):
(By Nerdache Cakes)
Much as I adore Tigger, I'm kinda bummed I can't make a "Doctor POOH" joke here. But that's ok; Piglet in a homemade Dalek costume MORE than makes up for it.
And speaking of Daleks:

WOW.
The 'net is full of so many fantastic TARDIS cakes, it's hard to narrow down the best ones.
Actually, I take that back; this one wasn't hard to narrow down at all:

This cake (yes, it's cake!) is fitted with mirrors and lights to make it actually look bigger on the inside.
Here's a peek inside the window:
Time for a cookie break!

Daleks in party hats. YESSS.
And who's the cutest widdle alien fat particle of all time?
(Found here, baker unknown)
IT'S YOU!
(No, not YOU you. I mean the adipose. Um. Awkwarrrd.)
As a Classic Who girl, these guys were always my favorite villains:

Still can't get over how cute she managed to make a Cyberman look, though. I seriously want that cake in doll form!
And now for something a little steamy:
If you think about it, Steampunk and Doctor Who really are a match made in the heavens, am I right?
And while we're talking TARDISes TARDI TARDIS cakes, I love the galaxy airbrushing on this one:

It takes a lot to fool me with cake these days, but this next one did. I *still* have a hard time believing it's not a wooden model:

Even if you've only watched Doctor Who since the reboot, I bet you still have a soft spot for Tom Baker:
(Sub'd by Emily G. and made by Border City Cakes)
It's all about the scarf, right? And the crazy hair.
(I'm, uh, glad the baker went with the scarf, though. o.0)
And another excellent contribution from the original show:

K-9!
Sometimes you see a fan-built K-9 rolling around at conventions, and I so want one.
Even though I grew up on the show, I'm ashamed to admit I have a LOT of catching up to do with the new episodes. (Too many were making me cry!) I will catch up, though - I WILL.
Anyway, if you're in the same boat - or if you've never seen ANY episodes and just want to know what all the fuss is about, then at least watch the episode "Blink." It's quite possibly the best episode of any sci-fi show EVER, and stands alone just fine.
Plus, after you watch that, you'll know why everyone else is about to flinch away from their screens in terror:

BOO!
Muahahahaha! :D
Ok, one more, just so we can end on a less petrifying [smirk] note:
(By Michelle Sugar Art)
Woohoo! It's a WHO-bilation!
(In my mind Doctor Seuss & the Doctor are friends, so that totally works.)
Enjoy the 50th anniversary special, my fellow Whovians, and have a Sweet weekend!

Love, love, LOVE! Must have the Tigger TARDIS cake. My life is not complete without it. And Steven Moffatt is a vicious genius who apparently likes to make people cry, but it's SOOO worth it. Y'all catch up! (And I'll go back and watch the old ones, deal?)
How about some U.N.I.T cakes?? hasn't anyone done the Brigadier on one or Bessy??
Who would have thought that Tigger was a dead ringer for Matt Smith?
WHO DA MAN??!?
(Yeah...I'm never saying that again...)
Doctor Who and Steampunk *are* a great mix! Just ask Neil Gaiman!
@Holkie: I have both those things and occasionally do that, too! But did you see the TARDIS tea infuser just introduced at www.Thinkgeek.com? It's at the top of my Christmas list!
I have that first cake on a T-Shirt. The Piglet Dalek is a cute addition.
I am sadly disappointed that I've read all the comments and no one seems to get the joke.
"It's Tigger on the inside!"
JL Williams: "Blink" is an awesome episode, but I'm not sure I'd agree that it's scarier than "The Empty Child." That freaked me right out, especially the transformation scene. *shudders*
I think I'm glad there are no gas-mask people cakes, even if it speaks to the sad lack of love for 9.
@Shanti: I wouldn't say there's a LACK of love for 9, it's just that old saying, "Out of sight, out of mind..." I was a staunch 10 companion (though NOT a fangirl, PLEASE!) but then I watched the re-runs and started to realize just how amazing 9 really was. Eccleston played it perfectly, and had this wonderfully vicious grin, especially when about to do something ruthless. In "Dalek", when he first realizes they've survived, you see how hard he is. Rose softened him a touch, but he played the Time War-scarred soldier to a T; it was "brilliant!" Now I'm not sure who's my favorite anymore...
Love these. I didn't get to see the 50th special...boo hoo.
My mother has developed some dementia and is difficult to talk to on the phone so I tend to ramble on about various subjects. She likes to hear my voice. I was talking to her on Saturday and mentioned "today is a big day, it's the 50th an. special of dr. who." Thinking she'd not know what I was talking about, she immediately said, "I don't like that dr who. Never understood why you knitted a 10ft scarf and it drug all over the floor and people tripped over it. You spent all that money to go to conventions all over the country and I worried about you." It's was the most coherent conversation I'd had with her in months.
These are amazing! I almost wish that I could get married again and have a Dr. Who wedding! My 6th anniversary was November 23 AKA the Day of the Doctor XD and my hubby was awesome enough to take me to the 3D theater showing on the 25th. Most amazing thing I have ever seen in a movie theater!
After years of reading about Dr. Who and seeing cosplay pictures and such on your blogs, I have finally been able to watch my first episodes of the show (the reboot) and wow, it is so fun! I can't believe it took me this long! And now I'm addicted. Sadly I can only watch it at my brother's since he has netflix and I don't, but I can live with that. At least these cakes make more sense to me now. Thank you for filling my life with geeky goodness. :)
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
