What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Important Tour Update

Hi Guys!

We've had to do some last-minute re-scheduling for the coming book tour, which means three of our scheduled stops are moving to new cities. We've already contacted the attendees who RSVP'd for the affected cities, so hopefully this isn't too much of a shock for anyone, but just in case here are the shows that have been cancelled:

Montreal

Memphis

New Orleans

In their place, we've now added shows in these three cities:

Ottawa, Ontario (10/29)

Oklahoma City (11/9)

Austin, Texas (11/15 or 11/16)

These changes were not made lightly, and John and I have lost a lot of sleep the past few weeks determining the best way to see as many of you readers as we possibly can. Everyone who RSVP'd for the cancelled shows is getting free bookplates, and based on all the e-mails and feedback we've been getting we think this was the right call to make.

Hit the links for the new cities above to go to each show's Evite page, where you'll find all the details and can RSVP. As with all our stops, there will be a fun show, cupcake contest, free cake, prizes, and lots of laughs.

Thanks for your patience and understanding, everyone, and we'll see some of you soon!

Also, if you haven't RSVP'd for one of our other locations yet, head over to our Tour Page for details and all the links. Your RSVP helps our bakers know how much cake to bring. :)

No New Orleans......sigh. That means I have to go to class that night.

I completely understand.....
that you will be here for Mardi Gras instead!!!!! I know it's a holiday book, so you can come for Mardi Gras--when people decorate Christmas trees with Mardi Gras ornaments, and serve cake....and possibly have a parade or two.

Did I mention that the Krewe of Muses throws shoes during their parade? It's the all female krewe that rolls* at night (rolls = meaning a parade in motion).

So, February it is!!!!!
Sometimes it's chilly enough to wear that cute hat you were thinking about buying!!!!

The cancelling of Montreal hurts, Jen and John, it really hurts.

I was so looking forward to the NOLA stop also - big disappointment now that I've learned we've been dropped from the tour.
