Sunday Sweets: Swing Cakes
September 23, 2012 In case any of you have been blissfully unaware 'til now, there's an election coming up here in the U.S.
As someone "lucky" enough to live in a "swing" state, I'm afraid to turn on the TV or answer the phone anymore, what with all the mud-slinging, name-calling, and incessant demands on my attention. Plus sometimes a campaign volunteer calls. [shudder]
So today let's make our own fun. Let's forget about Red States and Blue States for a few minutes, and instead look at some of the prettiest red and blue cakes I could find.

I'm told the women's vote is especially sought after this year.

And remember, if you're using a paper ballot, fill in those circles completely.
We don't want to leave Chad -- or anyone else -- hanging.
(Or is it still too soon for hanging chad jokes?)
Once the election is over, maybe we can stop talking about red OR blue, and remember how well these colors can work together.
