Sunday Sweets: Disney Princess Wedding Cakes

I love Disney wedding cakes, I admit it. So I thought I'd feature some today inspired specifically by the Disney princesses. Aww yeeeeaah. Princess powers go!

Aww, how sweet is this? Cinderella's blue birds and pink ribbon add the perfect finishing touches - and if you look closely, the top filigree design looks like her pumpkin coach!
Or how about this Beauty:

Fairy lights, roses, and allll the sparkly glitter on the middle tier. I approve.
I don't know if this next one's a wedding cake, but it'd be perfect for a Princes and the Frog theme:

I like that pearly finish, it gives it a sweet glow.
This next one is pure romance and drama for a subtle Snow White theme:

WOW. Digging all the shades of red, and the crisp gold "I Do" on the apple topper.
Gotta have a classic Cinderella's castle cake, right?

This is the definition of "dreamy"; it's floating on icing clouds, and those lights! Hnnnng.
Would you have an almost-black wedding cake? I think I would, if it looked like this:
It's warm and real and bright, you guys. Like the world has somehow...shifted.
(Who's singing with me?)

Yep, the lantern scene from Tangled gets me every time. Plus that big one on the side lights up!
The briars on this Briar Rose (aka Sleeping Beauty) cake are so, so good:

Perfect theming, and it's a metaphor for their life together, right? Where everything is coming up roses?
I always try to feature cakes where the actual CAKE is the cool part, not just the topper. I'm making an exception for this next one, though, because LOOK HOW CUTE:
[Made by Logan Kendell. Maybe. Possibly.]
Sebastian is hugging the little figurines, just like in the movie!
This... this may be the cutest thing ever, you guys.
My jaw about hit the keyboard when I found this STUNNING Beauty and the Beast cake:

Then my jaw fell again when I discovered it's actually a birthday cake... for a four-year-old.
On a personal note, my own wedding cake came from a grocery store, and life is soooo not fair sometimes.
Ahem.
Here comes another stunner:

Cinderella definitely inspires the most wedding cakes! I like how they used the clock *and* the carriage, and of course all that lovely gold lace and butterflies.
And finally, a more modern style castle that's giving me some sweet Small World vibes in the best possible way:

Now that is a Happily Ever After.
Happy Sunday, everyone!

Can you say "spoiled rotten four-year-old"?
You know, for your next milestone anniversary, you CAN renew your vows and have a non-grocery store cake. Just sayin'.
Okay but that sleeping beauty cake does look like the baker is intending to poison the happy couple and everyone at their wedding.
The Sunday cakes are all so gorgeous that it's a shame they get eaten - no matter how delicious they are - so thank goodness for photographs. And - re roses - they do have thorns.
Is it just me, or does putting the "I Do" on Sleeping Beauty's apple maybe not send quite the message you wanted to send? The rest of the cake is gorgeous, but that just hit me wrong.
That absolutely gorgeous cake for the 4 year old is NOT about what makes the kid happy - that's all about Mom & Dad showing off!
Anyone notice the prince/princess stained glass window in the background of the 4 year olds cake? Talk about over the top!
Four? Years? Old?! Memere & Aisha, I completely agree with you both. When I turned four, my mom made a Cinderella cake - you know the kind: bake the cake in a large Revere-ware stainless bowl; invert; stick a decorating doll I would never play with right through the center; ice, & decorate. At least I had a full doll, & not the upper body-only ones. OK, rant over. That cake is GORGEOUS, no matter whose it was.
You had me at the first Cinderella cake. After all these years, I *still* cannot figure out how those bluebirds "fly." I adore the Snow White cake. Those are real flowers, yes?
Sleeping Beauty's cake is lovely; however, those briers are waiting for a wreckerator to try his or her dubious artwork skills.
Ah, the poison apple is from Snow White, as Jen correctly stated. I agree that is an odd choice for a topper.
FYI, Cinderella pricked her finger on a poisoned/magical spindle and fell asleep.
All the cakes are works of art.
Mine was from a grocery store, too. It was beautiful. Not over the top. And it tasted too, too. The top is buried deep in the freezer. Maybe we should haul it out for our 40th in February?
@Nobodee Home: NO. LEAVE IT. My husband and I followed the tradition of eating the top tier on our first anniversary, and while the original cake was delicious, this was HORRID. It tasted of fish and raw meat and things I didn’t even recognize but knew they weren’t any form of dessert. I can’t even imagine what yours tastes like after 40 years in the freezer. Something tells me you don’t want to find out.
I would bet my offset spatula that those clouds are made of Italian Meringue.
