Sunday Sweets Finds A Rainbow

Guys, I think we need some rainbows today.
(By Caking It Up)
FOUND ONE!
The watercolor-y drips off the end are my new favorite thing. Well, that and the perfect gold-foil script, because how did they do that.
Most of us are lucky to get a cake that's pretty on the outside, but now there are lucky ducks getting rainbows INSIDE their cakes, too:

OoooOOOoooooh. Lucky bums.

Raise your hand if you just wondered what color this would be on the way out.
But do you recaaaall
the most famous rainbow of all?
(By ChoccyWoccyDooDah)
It is THE RAINBOW, you guys - and I like how the bluebirds and 'bow are the only bits in color.
Perfect homage to that moment when Wizard of Oz went from black & white to color.
And while we're reminiscing about our childhoods:

HOW CUTE ARE THOSE TINY CARE BEARS?!
True story: one of John's favorite shirts features the "Couldn't-Care-Less Bear." Just like John, it's a bear that tries to act all cool and disaffected, but at the end of the day, is still a big teddy bear.
[blows a kiss in John's direction]
Can't have a rainbow post without My Little Pony's Rainbow Dash, right?

Or at least a funky stylized cake version of her.
(I kinda want the different colored strands in her tail to be all different flavors.)
Now, at this point you might be getting the impression that rainbow cakes aren't elegant.
OH HO NOT SO.
These spinny little discs of rainbow goodness are elegance personified, y'all. PERSONIFIED.
Oooh, now check THIS out:

Look closely; there are little sculpted chameleons!
Sure, you don't generally want creatures crawling out of your wedding cake, but in this case, I think we'd all make an exception.
Here comes my personal favorite this week:
Mere words cannot describe my love for this design... so I'm just gonna make some "gimmie" noises instead.
[grabby hands] *EHHHH!*
*EEEEHH!*
*EHH*
And finally, one more elegant-but-oh-so-cheery rainbow confection that I kind of want to pin in my hair:
(By Cakeium)
Or at least all the flowery parts.
Happy Sunday, everyone!
(Want more? My "Rainbow Connection" Sweets remain some of our most popular, so maybe go check those out.)

My five year old granddaughter is jumping up and down for that Rainbow Dash cake. But my favorite is the Wizard of Oz: Dorothy and the rainbow.
So you know, the rainbow baby cake is something extra special. A rainbow baby is the baby that comes after the loss of a child/miscarriage/stillbirth. <3 My rainbow is now 2.
Um. Shifting eyes. The critter cake? The top butterfly is peeing and it is running down the side of the entire cake. More shifty eyes.
The rainbow baby cake is a million times better than the cakes that are shaped like babies. Susan: I am very happy for you to have your rainbow baby. .All babies are the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Also I love, love, love the last two cakes. I want both of them for my birthday.
That Dorothy is terrifying.
We made a rainbow sponge set, and thus I can vouch that it comes out green ‘afterwards’. You’re welcome.
Now I am totally waiting for a "rainbow confection" post, sung to the tune of "Rainbow Connection. "
Rainbow lizards :D
@Annie: Toto look too too timid to trot away to the tin man; trying to hold back tears.....(no rustoleum in those days....)
=^~.~^=
Great dream-making cakes!!! 👌
Each cake is so beautiful. I oohhed and aahhed thru the whole thing.
There are some misses here. The butterfly oozing cake is a swing and a miss.
It doesn't work, at least in the photo. The Oz cake is a whole heap of nope. But both cakes are better than what I could ever do.
I'm popping some popcorn for the wreckage these cakes will spawn!
My fave is Rainbow Dash. Too cute!
I just love them all.
Is...Is that rainbow spiral cake...buttercream?
Ungh - the wedding cake is gross. Insects and lizards coming out of something that looks desiccated.Sorry, that was a wreck - beautiful - but a wreck...
I remember watching Choccywoccydoodah. I can always pick one of their cakes before I read the name.
Rainbow cakes are fine, but why oh why can't people make sure they get the order of the colours right? (Most of the ones here DO, this being Sweets after all.) The Dorothy cake has the violet layer on the wrong end but is otherwise OK. The Liggy's Cakes one is all over the place. That really spoils it for me.
