What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

♫ Hip, hip, it's hip to not care! ♪

It's not too hard to figure out;
I see it every day.

And those who are the laziest
have gone the Wrecky way.

You see them in the bakery,

It don't look like a lot of fun.

But don't you try to right it,

'Cuz Cake Wrecks' time has come!

Don't tell me that they're crazy,

Don't tell me they're aware,

Cuz I can see what's going on:

It's hip to not care!

Kerensa, Doug B., Bree A., & Duana S., you might think I'm crazy, but I don't even care: I still like Huey Lewis and the News.

Was the first cake made for the Heck family?

Oh, that poor snowperson! Lopsided and their "down there" has a separate birthday. How does THAT happen? :/

August 1, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterMiss Paper

I swear, some people need reminders to breathe.

August 1, 2017 | Unregistered Commentermindy1

@Miss_Paper, I'm thinking Snowperson was born very close to midnight, got stuck around the midsection, and the upstairs and the down there were born on different days. That's all I could figure. If it were me, I'd celebrate in the middle. ;-}

The wreckorator who did the(lovely)"Ellen" cake forgot to put "neat" between "under" and "that".

I too still love Huey Lewis and The News! I just sang that whole post!

Maybe "Down There" referred to Australia? Or The South (if you live in the North)? Or a part of the body??

August 1, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterGrandmaJudyBeth

I too still ADORE and listen to Huey Louis and the News!

August 1, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterJodi

But... WHY does the Snow... Uh... Man? have blue boobies?

August 1, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterBADKarma

Oh gosh I am laughing so hard at the down there cake. Even that should get a birthday celebration apparently lol.

August 2, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterArlene Marie

I think Ellen's cake might be intentionally inscribed that way. Down There's cake - I. Can't. Even. I just can't.

August 2, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterChicago

@BADKarma - because they're cold, silly!
