Story Time Sweets
Once Upon a Time...
...in the Kingdom of Zuu,
(By Artisan Cake Company)
lived a helpful young owl his Mom had named Huu.
Huu danced with Petunia when she did ballet,
(By Dinky Doodle)
and untangled Sloth when bars got in the way.
(By Conjurer's Kitchen)
He always had time to tie Sally's red bows,
(By Planet Cake)
and if Hedgie asked, Huu would polish his nose.
(By Debbie Does Cakes)
When Flamingos ran errands, he'd stay with their chicks,
(By Mike's Amazing Cakes)
and he made sure that George ate the greens, not the sticks.
(By Planet Cake)
Huu'd help Raffi up when he fell in a heap,
(By Sprinkles Cakes)
and he sang lullabies, to help Flo go to sleep.
(By Little Cherry Cake Co. for Cake Bomb)
He prattled with penguins,
(By Janet MacPherson Cake Craft)
he combed all the llamas,
(By Viva la Cake)
he even helped meerkats put on clean pajamas.
(By Dootsy Dora)
And after all that, our Huu still wasn't through.
On Sunday, he shared all of his Sweets with you.
Happy Sunday!

Awwwww :D
Oh, okay .Time to just admit that I'm an old softie for animal babies. (Animals, period!)
The adoring moms are pretty special, too The dads are mostly hit and run, but they'd eat all the cake, anyway! Fun, Sharyn!
=^~.~^=
Simply adorable!
I actually "aaaaaahed" out loud over the last one. They are all lovely, but that meerkat is just too cute and cuddly for words. (One shouldn't cuddle cake, one knows, but it is cuddly nevertheless.)
Awwwwww! So cute and sweet and lovable and huggable and everything tiny and "able".
The flamingo- how did they do that!? The fox, is that a cake!? And I need a stuffed animal version of Bella the Llama! Wow, wow! I love Sunday Sweets!
Squeeeeeee!!! So much cuteness! And so much inspiration -- what beautiful work! And there's Sharyn's poem. i almost forgot the horrid sinus headache I woke up with.
The cakes are adorable. Almost as adorable are the rhyming captions - well done!!
One of my favorite Sunday Sweets!
But I have to say that I cannot fathom ever ordering one of these cakes. How do you look at something that sweet and adorable, and worse, show it to your 4 or 5 year old whose birthday you're celebrating, and then chop its head and limbs off to eat?
And yes, I am cognizant that it's cake not a real animal. Duh. My point is that some kids would be horrified by the imagery, and honestly, I would, too.
Perfectly sweet! I love them all and want to display them forever in a sweet room. ❤
Those are some seriously adorable cakes. I completely agree with Kel, I could never order one that looked like that because I'd never be able to cut into it and eat it!
Jen, that was beautiful. Thank you for a lovely and enchanting Sunday treat! You're the best!! Bless you ~~~
Well done, Sharyn! A perfect tale for perfect cakes! (personal fave is the hippo - I melt!)
Ooh so cute! Any chance we'll see the book on real shelves one day? That's a great little story, Sharyn. I think you just found a new way to illustrate a children's book!
I want every single one of them... as a plushie.
Oh, how I've LOVED this!!! Charming, sweet animals, impeccable artistry, and the PERFECTLY rhymed-and-schemed poem. Artistic talent and an unerring eye for the GOOD STUFF, along with such wit and poetic smarts---that's my kind of blog post.
I've again provided a link to today's post on my own blog---this is WAY too good not to share!
rachel
Chicago, I think you'll find the 'fox' is actually a red panda!
And is it just me, or is that the baby meerkat from the Compare the Market ads?
Those are amazing! Sunday Sweets, for sure! I don't think I could cut one up and eat it, though. They're too cute!
HOW DO YOU EAT A CAKE LIKE THIS?
I just can't picture it. Coming at one of those with a knife... they're just too adorable.
What a darling children's book this post would make! So incredibly sweet!
I came over here from Rachel's blog. This is just too cute for words. Thanks so much for sharing. You are very talented. I want to take them all home with me and just look at them. Who could ever eat any of them?
So sweet, the meerkat is Baby Oleg from Compare the market, I have a cuddly toy of him because we use that site. I think that its an Alpaca rather than a Llama.
PS baby Oleg came with his own cuddly maggot.
I predict a children's book in your future!! Beautiful cakes and a sweet story!!
Okay, seriously, the poetry-fu is strong with this one. That was awesome!
Also, the cakes are just precious!
That was a wonderful poem. I'd totally buy that book for any kids I know.
Meerkat in pajamas!! (Insert fan-girl type squeal here)
There's NO WAY I could ever CUT any of these babies!! OMG!!
And, yes, make this a children's book, STAT!! :D
These made my heart sing... just what I needed today!
PLEASE turn this into a children's book!!!
