What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

These Bakers REALLY Hate Drawing

Tracee asked her baker to write "Good Luck at Regionals" and then add a volleyball.

Which, technically, is exactly what the baker did:

::facepalm::

(Anyone else wonder what would have happened if they'd had an actual volleyball in the bakery?
Because these are the mental images that bring me joy.)

Jordan just wanted the number 100 and a smiley face emoji on her super-simple cake design, but a little something got lost in translation:

:)

I like to think this is only because someone didn't know the word "emoji," but let's face it [snerk]:

It wouldn't have helped.

And finally, parents, I'm afraid you'll have to be SUPER specific when ordering a Power Rangers cake for your kiddo's birthday:

Unless you want to tell the party it'll morph later, hide it, then run to the bakery for a new one.

Thanks to Tracee W., Jordan G., Nicole M., & Jennifer K. for literally being the best wreckporters of all time today.

If it wasn't a brain stem reflex, some of these people would be too stupid to breathe :P

Wow! I just don't understand (like these bakers) how they just can't get anything right. So glad I have a great bakery that doesn't mess stuff up.

The 100 cake even had sperm flying across the cake!

Honestly I don't know why bakeries have this problem...though I suppose if it wasn't for flub-ups like this we wouldn't get as many laughs....

Fun facts (re: 100 emoji cake) :

* There are up to 1851 distinct emoji. (Source)

* 56 new emoji are scheduled to be added to the Unicode standard in June. So will the bitcoin currency symbol (Support for those will vary at first, of course). (Source)

* One of the existing emoji is actually the number 100, in red, with two underlines, which is probably what the cake requester wanted. (Source)

I really want to believe that people could really not be that dumb and are doing that on purpose. The dumbing down of America is in full force. i just don't know how you could lliterally be that dumb and hold down a job.

Oh the humanity!!!! 🌈

I can't believe that some of these wreckerators can write so beautifully yet can't follow simple directions lol. Wow.

There's always the hope that the last cake asked for a "red power ranger"

This was laugh-out-loud funny!

At first, I thought the word underneath "100" was "enjoy", not "emoji".

When I saw "rainbow smiley faces," the following song came into my mind: "Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows everything..." Too fruitin' happy...

Is it just me, or for the cookie cake does it look like they smashed a bunch of pre-portioned cookie dough (a la Nestle Toll House) into the pan, instead of making an entire batch of dough and pressing it in the pan? I understand the efficiency of having individual cookie-sized dough at hand, but it makes the cookie cake look worse. It's like doing extra work to be lazy.

You know, some people really hate Emojis and Power Rangers, so maybe they did this just to be trolls. No, that can't be it. It's because people's IQ's are now lower than the cakes they're decorating.
