What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

The Winter Blues... And Reds?

I know most of you are tired of winter, bakers, but did you HAVE to decapitate poor Frosty?

That's just cold.

And the blood trail is a bit much.

Here, you know what you need? A warm hug.

Or a terror-sparked run for your life.
...which can also warm you up.

Tell you what, let's brainstorm all the GREAT things about winter! Like, uh... huh. Let's see.

Oh! Well, there's the, you know, thing there.

[long pause]

On second thought, let's just brainstorm all the BAD things about summer.

Like crappy butterflies:

Poo-tiful!

And streaking watermelons:

(You're disappointed this isn't a naked watermelon, I know. BUT ISN'T IT?)

And, of course, Mariachi Band Mickey Mouse:

Say what you will about his music, but this guy will really stick his neck out for you.

Granted, Mariachi Band Mickey doesn't really have anything to do with summer OR winter, but in my defense, it's 65 degrees in here and I am REALLY COLD.

I bet a hot whoopie pie would taste good right now. We should find out. Who's with me?

Thanks to Kathleen F., Jessica A., Stacie B., Jennifer T., & Lydia H., who I'm sure will understand when I say this is all I could think of with that Mickey cake:

The watermelon cake seriously reminds me of a double ended dildo.

Yeah, this comment is not appropriate for anyone really, but just had to say it.

Fall has "poo-wang turkeys".
Winter has "wang nose Santa".
Spring has "poo-wang butterflies". Who knew? Evidently this baker.

I love that Lydia sent you the last one that obviously reminded her of Delia as well. "You know I'm only happy when I'm sculpting"

That Mickey has the strangest and most terrifying face!

The Mickey Mouse had way to many tequilas, you can see it in his eyes. 😊

It's 32 degrees here in NJ, I'm welcoming any poo whatever that can imply warmth.

Awww! Psycho Olaf is cute! Can't say the same about Mickey, though. What's with that neck?

And 65 degrees? I'll take it! It's 33 here in Massachusetts--and that's UP from yesterday's high of 21. Can I move in with you?

He likes it. *smirk*

I admit seeing the second cake I thought 'the Joker got to Olaf!'

I laugh at all of you. It is -23 here. That's in Fahrenheit. In Celsius it's -31. Did you know that at -40, Fahrenheit and Celsius are the same? (Yes, I am in Canada.)(We only eat icecream cake.)

So, I just have to say that hot whoopie pies are very different from hot whoopie cushions, which is what I read first. Very, very different.

I'm sorry that poor butterfly has to wear a supporter for his hernia.

A butterfly with a hernia belt
Said it looked much worse than it felt.
It's just that the squeeze
From my chest to my knees
Meakes me wish that thing would soon melt.

From where I'm sitting, in north central Washington, it would have to warm up more than 50 degrees to match your "cold" 65. And the 14 degrees out there right now is warmer than it has been at times on several different days in the past week. Forecast calls for more cold. And did I mention the snow? A hot whoopie pie and an even hotter toddy would go down pretty well right now. Those cakes and CCCs (potpie), not so much.

Who knew Mickey Mouse could cause nightmares? Wreckerators shortening my sleep is an evil thing to do lol.

January 11, 2017 | Unregistered CommenterArlene Marie

Oh no! Poor Olaf has the mumps!

Extend-o-neck Mickey is definitely the stuff of nightmares.

No-one has yet mentioned the inscription on the base for the butterfly cake. If it was done after the cake was put on the board, how come the 'Happy' is half under the cake? If it was done before, how the come the wreckorator didn't see what a poor job he'd done and have another go? The base isn't even a board, just a sheet of paper with the bakery's name on it.

They really should try seedless watermelon--good grief, that one has enough seeds to grow an acre of new watermelons! (Also, wasn't aware that watermelon seeds are shaped like musical notes, or commas/apostrophes/quotation marks!)

It looks like Mickey Mouse has met Micheal Jackson's plastic surgeon. Still too soon?
