Sunday Sweets For Harley Quinn
Can't get enough of Harley Quinn?
Then puddin', these Sweets are for you!
(By Teneal Ambers Cakes)
Have you seen Suicide Squad yet?
(By D Liche)
If so, be honest: you just went to see Harley, didn't you? :D
Well here's a fun factoid: Harley is not from a comic book.
That's right, she actually originated on Batman: The Animated Series in 1992, and looked like this:
(By NerdAche Cakes)
In the show she befriends Poison Ivy, which is why you see those two cosplayed together so often.
Granted, you probably already knew that, but I didn't until about a year ago, so I find it super fascinating.
Still, if I'm boring you: LOOK, CAKE!
(By Thoughtful Cakes)
Preeettty.
Harley's had a lot of different looks over the years. Here she is from the video game Arkham Asylum:
(By Mike's Amazing Cakes)
...which is a great game, btw, even if you're not a huge gamer. JEN APPROVED. You don't even have to shoot anything; just mash all the buttons and watch Batman do lots of fancy jump kicks. (I'm awesome at video games, btw.)
I think I may have featured this next cake before, but it's worth a repeat:
(By Dream Day Cakes)
Ahhh. I want to gnaw off her little hat horns. Although I don't think they're called "hat horns." But seriously, this design is soooo good.
Another sweet-and-simple harlequin style:
Oh! Have you seen the new Vinyl Vixens from Funko? I kind of want them all. (YES I'M A GROWN WOMAN.) Especially now that I see they make pretty cool cake toppers:
(By Wal-Mart. Yes, Wal-Mart. I AM SO CONFLICTED RIGHT NOW.)
Or, if you're feeling extra ambitious, here's a Harley dress cake:
(By Cakes Step By Step)
Complete with video tutorial!
(Dang that's a lot of work!)
I am now, and will forever be a sucker for all things cute, so I'm melting over this one:
(By Roxy Armenta)
How genius is it to use the cartoony "bomb" fuse for a candle? Squee!
And finally, one more Margot Robbie-inspired design:
(By Bella Cakes)
Digging the softer colors, and of course that handpainting is amaaazing.
Hope you guys enjoyed! Happy Sunday!

To be fair about the WalMart cake, the topper makes the cake. The "cake" is just a standard design that they didn't manage to mess up.
Is that second last one a birthday cake? Nice!
Omg love cute Harley Quinn :D
When professional cakes go wrong? None of these look wrong to me!
If I won the Lotto last night, I'm going to EVERY Wal-Mart within 20 miles of my home ( just checked- there are 12!) and ordering THAT CAKE. Somehow I don't believe they will all, or even most, look that good.
I'm fixated on the perfect red bow on Kennedy's cake. I want it to place on a shelf and gaze at it's realistic perfection. Sigh.
It's now officially canon (as in, said explicitly by a Marvel writer) that Harley and Ivy are an item. A lot of us out here are hoping that the contrast between her relationship with Ivy and her... whatever you want to call it... with the Joker will eventually get her to recognize how abusive the latter is, and pry her loose from it. She deserves better.
Lee - Harley is a DC Comics character not Marvel. Sorry, but it had to be said! For the record, I don't get into the Marvel vs. DC rivalry, I enjoy characters and stories from both.
Mabel - Welcome to Cake Wrecks! On Sundays, the cakes featured are "Sunday Sweets" to show the wreckerators how to do a cake up right. Usually the featured "Sweets" are according to a theme. I enjoy seeing the amazing talent on display each weekend after chuckling over unfortunate spelling disasters or unintentional naughty anatomical references all week.
Hey watch the Walmart cake decorator jokes ;) Most of us Walmart decorators actually know what we are doing. No we may not work in fondant and gum paste but those who actually have skill can make some awesome buttercream and whipped cakes. Plus we all flub up once in awhile. So don't judge one mistake for an entire persons work. :)
Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn are now officially a couple, too. It is canon. She left Joker after he tried to kill her one too many times and her best friend was there to support her - and the love blossomed.
(I cosplay Harley from Arkham Knight, but made the mistake of buying the PC version since I don't have a this-generation console [PS4/Xbox One] so I haven't been able to play. =/)
No offense to anyone who is into that, but I'd rather have something fun and cheerful on my cake. :^)
Holy cow I'm on Cake Wrecks!!!!!! π±ππΌπ
I should seriously order a frozen theme cake from the Wal-Mart here just to show you they're not all screw ups. Now the Wal-Mart on the other side of town are all crack heads.
....wait...you didn't know that Harley is a Timm/Dini Batman Animated original?? I'm taking 2 points off your geek cred for that! ;p
And you forgot to mention that Harley was voiced by the inimitable Arleen Sorkin, still the definitive Harley Quinn, which is actually why I don't want to see Suicide Squad... I'm sorry, I know that whoever is playing her in the movie probably did her best on the character but.... Batman Animated was a key element of my childhood... I would just spend the whole movie trying to mentally replace the dialogue with Sorkin's voice. Now I'll just go pop in my Batman Animated DVD and watch "Harlequinade".....
I'm so old that when I read the Harlee Quinn headline I thought it was for the Agatha Christie sleuth
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Harley_Quin
I'm not a gamer, buy the free demo of Arkham Asylum (huge but free) convinced me to buy it. Now it's dirt cheap for the PC version.
Years later the extent of my gaming is both Portals and all four Arkhams. Which makes the video card purchase seem a bit silly.
Comic book characters? Meh!
Just in time for Boston Comic-Con! (Wish I could have gone.) Bet there were a lot of Harleys there!
BTW, did you know that director Kevin Smith named his daughter after Harley Quinn? Seriously.
Oh thank god my cake is NOT a wreck! Happy to be featured :)
Cover up the blue half and that last one could pass as a Jem cake. Truly outrageous!
Jbrecken - I thought I saw Jem as well on the last one!
Maybe you should know the Wal-Mart cake is topped by an action figure. That's the Harley Quinn figure from the "Vinyl Vixens" line.
Hey now... Walmart decorator here. I had no prior experience decorating, but I had a great trainer, and an uncommon "flair" for decorating right off the bat. Not all Walmart decorators are wreckorators. Just sayin'.
