Well. Now I got the song stuck in my head. Combined with - that image, thank you very much.........
What happened to "Unforgettable"??...I almost didn't even have time to almost forget it!
[Note from Jen] Uh, sorry 'bout that. Technical difficulties? Yeah. Let's go with that. :D
....That's a gummy bear? Holy Hannah...
What they do - slap frosting on one of those giant bears?
Somewhat off-topic, but The Squire was looking for a portrait of one of his ancestors, and found two on Google. One was by Holbein, and the other, and VERY amateur copy, looked - to quote him - "as if it had been done by Cake Wrecks".
You're famous!
That totally looks like the gopher Bill Murray made out of plastic explosive clay in Caddyshack.
That's no "gummy bear", it's an impacted colon.
That is one sad little lump of cake.
Hey - wasn't there a different post earlier today? Wedding cakes?
It is the gopher! It has to be. GummiBears don't come in opaque taupe. Or do they...
I'm an icky, yucky, sticky, mucky gummy bear.
I was tummy gummy in the mickeys very merry Christmas parade one year something like 1984 or 1985.
I thought it looked more like a Poo Bear. Which would have given Christopher Robin nightmares.
OK, I seriously had a bad reaction to my medication today. I was dizzy, flushed, I had chills, I had to go to bed - that's how bad it was. Please, please tell me there was another post this morning, because if there wasn't, I imagined it and I'll have to report that to my doctor. Really, Nat King Cole was there and it was beautiful. Like a dream. Oh my God, I imagined it...Oh, by the way, that gummy bear cake looks perfect to me.
It's Mr Hankey, the Christmas Poo!
@sendingtheclowns....I saw the Unforgettable post. Yes, the song got stuck in my head. Then when I checked back in and saw the Gummy Bear post, I thought I had imagined the Unforgettable and that it wasn't really here, as no one acknowledged the post. Thank you! Know I know I'm not losing my mind, again. I said again. LOL
If you stare at it long enough, it starts to look angry.
Wow. I was at the Haribo outlet store in Bonn last summer. Didn't see anything like that -- not even in a cage in the museum. I know Germans are used to trolls and such, but I don't think they would have let that live.
@Cookiemama: You're welcome! I'm just thrilled that- for once- it wasn't my brain shorting out-- =^>.<^= *zap* ...ow.
@Cookiemama-Oh, thank goodness. I thought I may have finally lost my mind.
I'm not sure that's a Gummi. I think we should feed it some Gummiberry Juice and drop it from a great height, just to test its bounce-ability. Muwahahahaha!
@Jenny - spot on!
A dead, embalmed gummy bear. Lovely.
That looks more like a Gummy Butthead to me.
Are you sure that's not the Venus of Willendorf?
And this is yet another reason why I love you and this blog oh so much! The childhood callbacks are amazing. Annnnd now I'm watching old Gummy Bears episodes on Youtube...
Seabird - The Venus of Willendorf!!! I can not believe it - and you are so right, it does look like that. I remember that weird little clay figure so well. When I was in college, my best friend and I took an Art History class together. The professor mentioned the Venus of W so often, it became our favorite joke for awhile. We would answer the most mundane questions with "Of course, the Venus of Willendorf!". Her favorite thing was to imitate a TV reporter holding out a microphone "Excuse me, and how do you feel about the Venus of Willendorf?"
Did the gummy bear fall into the chocolate frosting? It looks like magic shell topping on that poor bear lol. I would be laughing if that was my cake.. then probably crying.
IT'S AN ALIEN!
Or yes, I took Art Appreciation this Summer and it DOES appear to be the Venus of Willendorf!
OK, now you guys made me look up Venus of Willendorf ... and I'd have to agree with you. I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong in my Art Appreciation class in college (over 40 yrs ago!).
