What's a Wreck?

A Cake Wreck is any cake that is unintentionally sad, silly, creepy, inappropriate - you name it. A Wreck is not necessarily a poorly-made cake; it's simply one I find funny, for any of a number of reasons. Anyone who has ever smeared frosting on a baked good has made a Wreck at one time or another, so I'm not here to vilify decorators: Cake Wrecks is just about finding the funny in unexpected, sugar-filled places.

Now, don't you have a photo you want to send me? ;)

Float Like A Butterfly, Wreck Like A "B"

Katrina's family ordered two cakes, and asked the bakery to write "Happy Birthday Katrina" on the smaller one.

Guess what happened next:

Little Ryan's cake is a little more confusing... until you take a look at the order form:

Ahhh, I think we've cracked the code!

But my favorite belongs to Kate and Lilly, who were celebrating their victories in a local Spelling Bee.

Their parents asked the bakery to add some little flying bees around the cake for decoration... and OH YES THIS HAPPENED:

Spelling B's?

Well, at least they're consistent.

Thanks to Katrina S., Rebecca M., & Amy E. for all the latest buzz.

I for one actually love the flying B's and will request the same for my next birthday.

Aw, common. Everyone knows you spell them with one or two "e's".

At least they spelled "B" right.... oh wait....

December 10, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterMaMa

OMG do they have to be told to breathe also?

Do you know what is depressing?
I am impressed that "Congratulations" is spelled and spaced........
.........................................................................
I have become desensitized to cake wrecks....

Is it wrong that the most irritating thing about the flying Bs is that they inserted a random apostrophe?

Bs with wings would actually be pretty cute.

December 10, 2015 | Unregistered Commentermneme

So is it the B's congratulations? Or perhaps Kate and Lilly belong to the Bs? Just love the double wreckage of B vs. Bee and extraneous apostrophes.

I'm mostly impressed that they spelled Congratulations correctly.

I really believe bakers do it on purpose in order to frame themselves a screen capture of their cake's appearance on Cakewrecks.
That, or bakeries employ a lot of underpaid immigrants that don't speak a word of English.
I mean, piping a code on a cake? Cake decorators cannot be that stupid.

I thought they asked for little b's... The baker made CAPITAL B's... Duh!

It is outrageously funny that on a cake for winners of a Spelling Bee they misspelled Bee!!! Just brilliant.

There's a tiny voice in this vast universe screaming, "Aw,come on! REALLY!!!??", fading to a whispered "We're doomed"

CK-543C
That's the name of the droid in the new Star Wars movie, right?

Just when I think I can't be surprised and dismayed any more at Literal LOLs....

December 10, 2015 | Unregistered CommenterErica

I'm actually more annoyed that they wrote 'smaller Happy Birthday Katrina' on the larger cake than the fact that they added the word 'smaller'.

I cannot believe they wrote the decoration kit number on the cake. What part of that order form wasn't clear.

"What part of that order form wasn't clear."
The part that had writing on it...

They got B's 6 times out of 6!

CK-543C is the item number from the manufacturer (DecoPac or Bakery Crafts - this case it's from Bakery Crafts). It is Cake Kit (CK) then the number. This one's item name is Sesame Street tow truck. But still, any decorator should know that... And not to write it as the message. 🙄

I requested that my roommate make me a Literal LOL Cake Wrecks cake for my birthday. Mostly inspired by the "Rainbow over mountains" cake, but I think I'll have her add some of these too :-D

Looks like BS to me! :)

Lol these are hilarious. The b cake at least looked fairly decent despite the non bees lol. Ah well try again lol.

We had a friend ( Last name Bailey) who ordered cupcakes with B's on them for a family event. They got cupcakes with the dang cutest little BEES on each one. The insects were so adorable, they couldn't even be mad!

This level of sheer and utter retardedness makes me lose all hope for humanity...

HOW, at a time when Ph.Ds are going begging, are these nursery school dropouts the ones with JOBS???
