Sunday Sweets Goes Looking For Pooh

Happy Winnie-the-Pooh day, guys!
Yep, it's author A.A. Milne's birthday, so you know what that calls for:
(By Sugar Creations)
BEAR BUTT.
(He fell in? Aw, Pooh!)
And because everything's more fun with friends:
(By Marzia Caruso)
That smile on Piglet is making my whole day.
You know the wonderful thing about Tiggers?
(By Handi's Cakes)
Sometimes, they're made of cake!
The Disney version of Pooh and the gang is most popular, of course, so it's always fun to find designs based on E. H. Shepard's classic illustrations:

That's all handpainted! Love how the balloon goes from 2D to 3D.
A shot of the other side:
Another classic Pooh - gotta love all those little bees!
And here's an original design of the Hundred Acre Wood gang:
(By TRP Cake Studio)
SO CUTE.
Speaking of cute, I'd like this Pooh Bear as a fuzzy little statue for my desk, please:
(By Bake-A-Boo)
Pretty please?
And while you're at it, I'll take this Eeyore as a huggable plush:
(By Cake Magic)
D'awww.
Tigger has always been John's favorite, and he claims that if he ever gets a tattoo, it'll be of a cutie version of Tigger, like this:
(By Eat Cake Be Merry)
Just so you all know, I'm 100% behind this idea. :)
Not only is this next one adorable, with its teensy clothes line and pastel bunting, it also has little Roo!
(By Torte di Ivana)
See him? He's driving the train!
Woo woo! Seriously, this cute is approaching dangerous, slide-off-the-chair-as-a-puddle-of-goo levels.
And finally, one more of the silly old bear himself:
(By Estrele Cakes)
The background plaque, the "floating" balloon, the fence posts - I love this design! So fun and clever.
Happy Sunday, everyone, and TTFN!

What a nice surprise! I've loved that silly old bear for a long time now, so it's nice to see all this cakey goodness. I've gotta say the Eeyore one has got to be my favorite; I want to teach him how to smile, dang it!
The only acceptable Pooh on a cake. These are beautiful.
I am speechless. It makes the weeks awful.....THINGS...(so hard to tell what they are sometimes) worth suffering. Some of these, in fact, today, ALL of these, are art forms and should be preserved (In Fimo copies and AFTER they have been eaten)
Awwwww! I especially love the classic Winnie the Pooh illustrations. They are the best. Adore the 3D bees!!!!!
"It is more fun to talk to someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like, "What about lunch?" "
Or.... "What about cake?"
Oh, the first one with the fute little Pooh butt! With a cute little bee on it! SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!
Loooooooooooove that "Silly Ol' Bear"!! And that one Tigger cake is Übet Kawaii!!
Oh, who doesn't love Pooh? Don't raise your hands; just sit down...on a bee hive! These are unBearably sweet...Go ahead and groan, and how did you guys (John & Jen) miss that? I'd like one of each, as figurines. I also like the Fimo idea, Kirri! If you make a Pooh, don't forget to make his blue balloon in his "favorite size" !=^~.~^=
If I ever get a tattoo, it'll be of the TARDIS or the Right Hand of Doom. Or maybe both. Sorry, john (thoj)--but Tigger is my favorite, too.
Awwwwww :D
I need to go back to bed (or to Kindergarten); I had them mixed up (*gasp*)! Eeyore had the balloon (sort of), not Pooh...and it was red, not blue. These things are important! =^~.-^=
Hey John (thoj), I will tell you that as the worlds biggest wuss who hates needles, that in the later stages of my 50's JUST got my first tattoo two weeks ago. It was such a positive experience, I got my second one a week ago! I have had many mouth issues, requiring LOTS of injections with what I describe as "horse killer needles" and I would gladly tattoo my whole body before having another mouth injection. Go to a few tattoo places. Talk to the artists. See how the shop is run. Is it clean? What kind od people come and go? And if you'd like to take a couple hour road trip over Tampa way, I will gladly introduce you to my tattoo artist!
Great cakes today, BTW!
I have to say that I consider anything with the vile Disney designs on a WRECK, so I really appreciated to two Shephard style cakes here
One thing I love about the Sunday Sweets is that it redeeems the cakes the other days....I am awed at the cakes on Sunday and left speechless that the other cakes are so gawd-awful...keep up the excellent work!!
oh, Eeyore, I love you! And I love AA Milne's works. Happy Birthday to an artist who gave us Pooh Bear and Tigger and all the other friends in the 100 acre woods.
These made my day! Hard to pick a favorite, but my loudest "awww" was for the Eeyore cake!
Toonfan69 I totally agree with you. The original illustrations are the best!
We played Pooh Sticks when we were kids and I played it with my own. I look forward to teaching my grandson when he is old enough (10 weeks is a wee bit young).
I can still recite the snow poem off by heart! (The more is snows, tiddly pom... )
I love all of the cakes today but the Tigger ones are special and dear to my heart - I named my dog after him as a puppy because he bounced everywhere. :)
That was almost 13 years ago and up until a few months ago when his arthritis finally caught up to him, he -still- bounced. Now there's a lot less leaving the floor but he is still full of pep.
I have to agree with toonfan69. Disney's mutation of Winnie-the-Pooh and The Jungle Book turned them into something alien and sickening. It was like going to see an old friend and discovering that he had been replaced by Ronald McDonald. I have not watched a single Disney film since.
Oh my gosh- how does one post cram in so much CUTE? The d'awww factor is off the scale this week :D
"It is more fun to talk to someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words."
Try your first day trying to teach Special Ed Kindergarten English as a Second Language. You'll change you minds!!
I must be reading this blog too long. I was really expecting a well done cake of the other kind of pooh. I am sure it can be done. Have you seen those "cat box cakes?" They are surprisingly convincing!
Which Pooh tattoo are you thinking of getting, J (thoJ)? E. H. Shepard's or Disney? If the latter, it looks like you can probably say goodbye to some of your readership.
I like the fact that on that last cake the decorator was able to get away with a typical "wreckerator" mistake as I believe it was purposeful...Gionatan...Johnathan? Unless that is a name of ethnic background which would cause me to apologize.
@Joelle: Well, you got it sorta right. "Gionatan" is Italian for "Jonathan" & a fairly common name. So, say you're sorry...
@Anne: when I was born, my parents nicknamed me "Grand Royal Purple Pooh-Ba" (whatever they were smoking, I WANT SOME). It got quickly shortened to "Pooh" or "Pooh Bear", which they call me to this day (I'm 44). I never thought much about it, but now that I have kids...they think it's HI-larious that I answer to "Pooh".
My parents owe me.
This post made me happy.
That is all.
I LOVE this! Made my Monday (day late seeing it).
I love the eeyore cake ... Beatiful job
