Wait. This Calls for CAKE.

Jill S. writes,
"This cake was just sitting out at the local [name withheld so they won't sue me], where they evidently set (celebratory? awareness? cautionary?) cakes out for (forgetful? vengeful? thankful?) shoppers to buy. Other than that, I really have no explanation for the cake. At least it was properly spelled and punctuated."
Now, I'm not really sure what I was expecting when I opened the attached picture...
but it wasn't this:
Sooo...
should I bring the ice cream?

J(thoJ) made me giggle/snort.
I like the idea of being the Random Cake Lady, too, so I hope Sara doesn't live in Central FL so we won't be competing (I'll take you DOWN).
I was thinking perhaps a cake was ordered for the Alzheimer's Assn., and they made a mistake somehow and figured it was easier to just sit out the cake and hope someone just wanted a cake and didn't really care what it said.
lol ... they forgot the rest of the writing??
Maybe they were hoping someone with Alzheimer's walked by and said "Maybe I ordered a cake?"
Hey, everyone needs a party. Now if you find one that reads, "Cancer", we'll be in business!
:D
Hmm and here I thought that wreckerators didn't make a cake for everything. They have proven me wrong yet again. Drats. Next I wanna see a cake for a kid that is celebrating being potty trained..then again I probably don't want to. I am afraid of what cakes could be found lol.
It's the beginning of a series.
Boils
Croup
Dandruff
Encephalitis
Fartiness
Gastrointestinal Distress
Heart Attack
Incontinence
At least they didn't write "Old Timer's" which is what some people really believe it's called..
If it was for Alzheimer's Day, then it was properly punctuated. Perhaps, the critic above needs a cake with sprinkles. I'm just saying.
And now we conclude the AGM of the Alpine Skier's Association with cake!
So, is it just me, or is the last line a reference to a scene from the TV show Modern Family? Perhaps involving David Cross?
"OK, white frosting with a purple border, and sprinkles. Would you like anything written on the cake?"
"Yes, I'd like it to say..." (Gee, what was that quote I had in mind? It was so funny! I should have written it down.) "Umm...heh-heh. Alzheimer's. Can I call you back later?"
"Sure, no problem. We'll get to work on the cake in the meantime."
This one takes the cake! (pun intended!)
I could not stop laughing when I finished reading your comments and then looked at the picture of the cake. It is too good not to share. Thanks for continuing this site!!!!!!
Next there will be a "Spanish Inquisition" cake. You never expect that on a cake either.
Remember the breast cancer awareness cookie which said "Celebrate the memory of a loss?" May I pretend that it was in the case next to this cake?
Along the same lines as how there's greeting cards for random things like your cat's surgery or it's-not-you-it's-me. Now there are cakes for every purpose: special occasions, announcements, raising awareness, information, celebrating spelling. Soon we'll see cakes that say:
"Postage"
"Saturday Morning Hiking Group"
"Arthritis"
and of course the ever popular "Antidisestablishmentarianism"
Maybe this is a training exercise for new wreckorators? Spell it correctly with nice lettering and you're hired?
Ok....Um...What were we talking about again?? ;o)
You notice it's possessive? It belongs to Mr. or Mrs, A., of course.
My guess is this was an awareness cake or something to that affect. However, you can't help but smile. You have to see the humor in things. My grandmother had Alzhiemer's and it is a very sad way to live, but at times just like anyone with Alzheimer's she had moments that made us chuckle. Same goes for my Autistic son. I like this cake. And yes for someone who asked, Alzheirmer's desease is named after the person who discovered it. Of course it is the person's last name. For another person that spoke the punctuation is correct because the person who discovers the desease basically owns rights to it.
I work for the Alzheimer's Association. It was probably made for Alzheimer's Action Day in September. :) The icing is purple because that is our color, and the punctuation is correct. :)
LOL Y?!?! Y?!?!?!?!?! XD
Actually there's a day of recognition and the signature color is purple... maybe that's why this cake was made... but honestly... that's IT?!?!
Thank you for providing so much laughter that I sometimes injure myself:-) Without the wickedly funny comments the cakes would be amusing...maybe...but I bow before the genius of the writing. The only other site that makes me willing to hurt myself is called wmob.com - the Wiretap Network. But they don't have cakes...lol
omg.. i seriously laughed so hard!.
Maybe the person holding the icing bag was trying to figure out how to spell Alzheimer's and happened to have a bag of icing in their hand? Then someone thinking it was just a cake to hit the shelves, put it out for sale? Lol that's the best I've got!
