Sunday Sweets: Sweet Treats

I. LOVE. FOOD.
I especially love cake, cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, candy, or anything with copious amounts of
sugar
SUGAR
SUGAAAAR!!
I mean, it's really no secret. I eat sugary food, I write about sugary food, and I make sugary food while I eat sugary food and write about sugary food. So today, let's see some gorgeous cakes that give "eye-candy" a whole new meaning.
Made by Kim C.
Look at all those treats! Pie, ice cream, donuts, cupcakes, bon bons, cookies, and cake. It's so realistic, it's hard to believe it's all cake!
Here's an adorable topsy-turvy candy cake:
Submitted by Suzanne B. and made by Sweet Irene
But should a one-year old really be eating all that sugar? You better give it to me.
Adding some whimsy isn't a bad idea. Just look at these little cupcake houses!
Submitted by Heather M. and made by Rose Sen
"Home 'Sweet' Home," indeed. When can I move in?
Here's a delightful nod to the Candyland game without being too literal:
Another first-birthday cake? Yeah, I better eat this one, too. Just to be safe.
Sweet treats take an elegant turn in this impeccable teapot cake:
Submitted by Tracy Q. and made by Sugar Creations
I can't believe every inch of this is edible, including the gelatin butterfly! Gorgeous.
There are a latte cute details on this coffee cake:
I'm not a coffee drinker, but that biscotti looks pretty good. Biscotti is like cake, right? Cake that's been left out for a few days? Yeah, I'd still eat it. Don't judge me.
I love these over-sized Hostess cakes!
Submitted by Julie H. and made by The People's Cake
Though I'm not sure the sign was necessary. Wouldn't I assume it was cake whether it was a cake version of the cake or just the cake itself? I guess it could have been a sculpture. (And now I desperately want this as a sculpture.)
Now this is a cupcake cake I can get behind:
Submitted by Marian and made by Andrea's SweetCakes
And by "get behind," I mean "stand behind and nonchalantly lick the frosting until someone notices."
Speaking of cakes I want to devour single-handedly...

Now, where can I find a glass of milk big enough to dunk it in?
This beautiful balancing act is a floral delight!
Submitted by Kristy L. and made by Calamity Cakes
I love that this cake represents Strawberry Shortcake while maintaining beauty and elegance. Perfect for any age!
Nothing says "sweethearts" quite like this candy heart engagement cake:
Made by Lisa B.
I scream, you scream, we all scream for THESE:
Submitted by Esther W. and made by Hello Naomi
I'm serious, if I don't eat an ice cream sundae today, I'm going to go bananas.
Made by Studio Cake.
Alright, I'm officially going to get ice cream now.
Before I go, this next cake is quite possibly my most favourite cake I've ever come across while writing for Cake Wrecks. Beautifully constructed, enormously entertaining, and perfect for any baby shower:
Submitted by Vanessa and made by John S.
Pickles and ice cream!! This cake cracks me up. I wonder what flavour it is!
(Now I'm going to get ice cream. Writing this post was like grocery shopping when you're hungry. Such a bad/good/bad idea.)
Have a sweet to nominate? Send it in to sundaysweets [at] cakewrecks [dot] com.

Those look like snozzcumbers to me. If someone gave me a snozzcumber cake I'd be insulted. Or possibly pleased. I can't decide.
These are all fabulous, but I love the simplicity of the candy hearts cake.
These made me feel sick to my stomach.. :x
Re: the "cake" signs by the hostess cake: they were a part of the overall decor of the wedding...lots of letterpress whimsy everywhere. The wedding was featured in the fall/winter issue of Seattle Bride magazine, if anyone would like to see more of the fun! (it's online)
I have to say, it was a super tasty cake. Not a crumb left over, at least that we saw anywhere!
My sweet, dear friend Kim C made that first one! I was SOO excited to see her cake here!! :) Thanks for all the work you put into this fun site!
I made the conversation hearts box cake...and yes, it's all cake except for the flaps which are fondant covered cardboard pieces. :)
I ADORE the pickles and icecream cake!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wonder how long it takes to do these beautiful cakes? I mean, look at all the details! (Which, by the way, thank you for pointing out the gelatin butterfly because I would have over looked it!) I'm so happy you do include these beautiful cakes on Sundays. The wrecks are hilarious & fun, but these cakes are too great not to share! Even my husband was impressed I think, as he said "That's not a cake!" That's awesome to make cakes that look to good to be true! (Almost a shame to have to eat them!)
When I saw the giant Oreo I literally did a yoda mmmm! I want to eat the cookie cake in my freezer!
