Fashionably Sweet
May 2, 2010 Clothes may make the man, but they're more like the icing on top of the woman. Which sounds much kinkier than I intended. Erm. What I mean is, we're looking at cool Fashion cakes today. So let's do that, and stop thinking about icing-covered lady bits. Not that *I* am, of course, but I know you probably are. (Filthy buggers, the lot of you.)

Some of you may be wondering where all the shoe and purse cakes are. Well, truth be told, you sent in so many great examples that I didn't know how to choose! Plus, I honestly prefer the more abstract fashion designs like the ones above. These tend to require more design creativity than an exact one-to-one replica. Granted, exact replicas can require more skill, but the purse and shoe thing has been SO popular for SO long that, much as I hate to say it, I'm kind of bored with them. Sorry.

That blue one has an Art Deco effect, I'm kinda expecting a little bit of naughty nickers to be peeping out under each flirty skirt.

Oh wow to that third cake. I wish I had a dress that looked as great as that cake lol. All of these cakes look so beautiful that whoever cuts into them should be arrested!
The piping on that first cake is amazing, which makes it all the more annoying to the anal-retentive in me that it's all slightly off-kilter.

OMG. These are just FABULOUS. Ever since I was a little kid I've wanted to be a designer, and I've always liked cooking. I now know the perfect career for me!!!

My Percy Jackson (thus all things Greek God-like) obsessed son would like me to point out that Athena is the godess of wisdom and Aphrodite is the godess of beauty and wealth. :) All of the cakes are fantastic!!

The Aretha Franklin hat cake was made by Sylvia Weinstock Cakes. (The small white chocolate glasses logo is on hidden among the flowers on the cake board.)
I loved Aretha's hat! Mrs. Obama's dress, not so much...
'Fabric draped' cakes aren't my thing but I have to say that one isn't bad. Looks like they got their monogram from Toppers With Glitz =) I wanted to get mine from there but there was no budge in my budget. *sigh*

OMG the first one is a lolita cake! those girls scare the crap out of me whenever I see them promenading in Central Park!!! the cake is gorgeous, but Lolitas are like walking wrecks in their ridiculous clothes and their ringleted hair.

Oh wow, I saw the first picture and thought, "That looks like a Moi-Meme-Moitie dress, why would THAT be on CakeWre-" and then I saw the cake. SO amazing! That someone would make a Moitie cake, and that someone would take the time to do all that to it is just... wow.
Is that last cake for Jeremy Fitzgerald' s wedding? It's a really cool cake, but I wonder if that is a fnaf reference. I doubt it.
