I am all about the cute (Valentina!), but have to give props for the mad skills of the decorator of that football cake. That thing is perfect.
Is number six a snowy owl sitting on a pecan pie? It's pretty, but I wouldn't want to eat the pie after the owl flies off.

I am obviously team Superb Owl since I am one, being a graduate of Warren Wilson College. But also because where I live there are more owls than football fans.
OOH! Izzy's feathers look SO real! Seriously, these cakes so absolutely perfect. I'd hate to cut into any of them.
I don't know anything about football but I am pretty sure that's not a touchdown dance so much as it's an owl responding to being hit by lightning --- explains the charred feathers and odd pose. Even so that is a delightful little owl and even lightly toasted owls beat the Super Bowl in my book....
Still mourning the loss of My Chargers to Los Angeles.

We actually have neither the Super Bowl OR superb owls in my house (owing to a complete lack of interest in football for the one & a complete lack of owls for the other), but instead watch the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet. (This year, they've added an adopt-a-thon.) This has been a tradition in my house for the past several years. It helps if you have young girls who SQUEEE at the sight of cute puppies.
I do love football but after this I am Team Owls after seeing these beauties!

Hmm,wondering if you were in 'ca-hoots' with the Puppy Bowl people combining these two subjects, or just prescient! :) The mascot for one of the puppy teams was a rescued owl! I think the other mascot was a chinchilla, also rescued.
