Sunday Sweets: (Video) GAME ON!

Anyone else out there love video games??
(By Un Jeu d'Enfant)
'Cuz if so, this post's for you.
Mortal Kombat:
(By Maridell's Cakes)
Disney Infinity:
(Baker unknown. Anyone recognize it?)
Seriously love this idea: you can set the character cupcakes on the game pads, just like the real system! SO FUN.
Skylanders:
I've never played this one before, but these fun character cakes make me want to!
Here's another, also from Skylanders:
(By Dina Cimarusti - who was on season 7 of Face Off! SO COOL.)
Call of Duty:
Especially perfect for someone named Paul. Ha!
Minecraft:
(By The Violet Cake Shop)
It's a plethora of perfectly placed pixels! Swoon.
Mario Kart:
(By Enna's Cake Design)
Because that little Italian plumber never gets old.
Secret Agent Clank:
(By Vsem Tort)
I remember playing Ratchet and Clank eons ago - I had no idea Clank got his own title!
Legend of Zelda:
(By Studio Sweets, which sells those toppers on Etsy!)
Another classic, and talk about a perfect wedding cake! I love the "floating" sugar gems.
And finally, one of John's favorite games of all time:
Skyrim:
(By Baking Obsession)
I got John the Alduin statue this cake is based on last Christmas, so we're both pretty familiar with it - and neither of us could believe this was cake at first and not the real thing. It's that perfect.
Now, who wants to go play a game? :)
Happy Sunday, everyone!

In love with the minecraft cake :D although they are all well done :)))
Fus Ro DAWSOME!
Not only was Dina in Season 7 off FaceOff. She won. And alot of her makeups used her cake decorating skills. She is amazing!
๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ฎ๐พ๐พ๐พlove it!! Or as the Raddits would say "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!"
Excalibur of the Minecraft cake looks perfectly two-dimensional in that picture. And are Zelda's gems on picks? How do they float???
These are all awesome but I wish the post had gone on longer, we are missing Bioshock, portal, Spyro, Final Fantasy, WoW, Star Wars-TOR, Guild Wars. maybe we play too many video games after all... :(
I love Skyrim, I love the statue the cake is based on. But all that grey icing makes me a little queasy.
Why doesn't anyone do Sims cakes?
I think I need that Zelda cake. Seriously.
I'm debating on showing these to my 9 year old son. They are all awesome! He loves Skylanders and I'm afraid he might request one of the Skylander cakes for his next birthday!
So, you've seen this, right?

:D
Great cakes! The detail of the characters is incredible.
Only thing that worries me is that someone turning 11 has been playing Call of Duty
I hate being "that person" but technically the cake labeled Mario Brothers is a Mario Kart cake. It's awesome how they have all the items you can pick up on the bottom and then next to Mario are the different cups you can race in.
These sweets always make me wonder if there are any Dragon Warrior(Quest) sweets out there.
Those rupees are so perfect, how do they stand up like that? Some of my favorite games are represented in this post :)
The Mario cake is actually a "Mario Kart 8" cake. It's really clever that they chose this and then used the Mario Kart 8 symbol (which is actually the shape of the Mobius track in the game) as the 8 on top.
No fair not including a Pokemon cake.
I laugh all week with the cake wrecks, but when it is time for Sunday Sweets I just say, "Wow!" These are so cool!
I will have to wait for Tuesday, after my daughter's 10th birthday, since she really like Skylanders and Minecraft but all she's getting is a standard bakery cake. We did a Skylanders cake a couple of years ago, but it was nowhere near as awesome. Just a round layer cake with the grey brick design airbrushed on and a suddenly small looking actual figure as a topper.
hells, that's *better* than the statue!
I was thinking the same thing as a previous poster about the Call of Duty cake for a child turning 11. Last year my son was invited to a Call of Duty party, where the kids played the game on consoles, for a boy turning 7 years old! My son went to the cake party afterward. My kid likes playing Lego Avengers game, and that is fine by me!
According to my Youngest (who adores Skylanders and its eleventy-billion different characters the most, but all video games really), her favorite is the first Skylander cake because it "looks so real" & that is Eruptor on top.
Also, the Minecraft cake, in her estimation, is "totally wrecked; there aren't any circles in Minecraft!" The top tier of the cake is round, & she thinks that's just wrong.
Every geek has their own standards...
I gotta agree with Stephanie. Paul's parents need to spend less money on birthday cakes and more time being actual parents! Letting a 10 year old play Call of Duty should warrant a call to CPS.
I think calling CPS is just a LITTLE over the top for that, guys. But honestly I don't think a child should be playing that kind of game until they're at least 13, so better parenting yes. Social services? No.
That Zelda topper is AMAZING. I pretty much think the Super Nintendo was the pinnacle of gaming. Nothing sets my heart a-flutter like 16-bit art.
My husband would go crazy for a Dragon Quest cake.
