It was thrilling to be watching Graham Norton on BBC America and have Cake Wrecks come up! It's interesting to see what they choose to show when there are so many to choose from.

Oh. My. GOSH! The penguin! I suddenly want this to be my little girl's 1st birthday cake because she was born January 10th! Squeeeeeeee! Oh...there I go...look, I'm a puddle of goo on the floor now!
Being a Grinch here, I know, but . . . if there is at least half as much sugarpaste on the cake board as there is cake, what's the point? That reindeer is indeed an awesome work of cakey engineering, but most of it is going to end up in the trash. Same with the two characters in the last picture.

Sweet indeed! Not only am I watching Muppet Christmas Carol *right now* but it's been my favorite movie since I saw it in the theater, Christmas '92.
The gravity defying reindeer was done in a class at our shop in Ontario Canada. Believe it or not there is a fair bit of cake in there. He'd actually feed quite a few people. He's got 2 - 9" square cakes and 2 - 5" rounds cakes in there. His entire body all the way up to the top of his neck is cake. And he's covered in a mix of modeling chocolate and fondant... so really tasty.
His legs essentially become the cake stand if you think of it that way. They're the support system for an amazing cake!

(@ khereva: Anything with Bogie is "must see" in my book!) Cakes: the Charlie Brown is adorable, his tree is perfect, and as for the fondant that probably never gets eaten: yeah-(yuck)-but it sure makes awfully CUTE inedibles! It wouldn't surprise me if some of the really spectacular stuff gets saved/preserved/"archived" like fine art collectibles, maybe even in climate-controlled environs, and only trotted out on anniversaries or whatnot. =^~.~^=
Well you live and learn, I never knew that Graham Norton was shown in America, being English I am surprised that it is, I am curious to know what you think of the show and how it compares to US chat shows.
PS What did you think of Mary Berry who has become famous here as one of the judges on the show 'The Great British Bake off' which has inspired a renewed interest in home baking in this country.

Awesome work to all people that made these cakes you're all very talented, love the Frozen cake they really executed Disney's animated characters well. Whether the other reindeer cake was a class or not, the person who worked on it still needed the skills to execute it, it's doubtful that they all left at the same level.
