Sunday Sweets: Christmas Cheer!

It's 10 days 'til Christmas, my friends. DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR 'D'AWW'S ARE?
(By i pasticcidi molly)
D'awww.
(There's one!)
Or perhaps a ring of cross-eyed reindeer will tickle your fancy:
(By Pia Marianne)
I love this design so, so much. I want it on a scarf, a pillow, AND a coffee mug, stat.
But when it comes to giggle-inducing reindeer mugs, I think THIS is the clear winner:

LOOKIT DAT FACE.
And when you're done, check out his legs! As in, only one leg is touching the cake board. It's a Christmas miracle - of cakey engineering!
So hey, you just saw a reindeer defy gravity. What are you going to do now?
You're going to Disney World!!
(By Antonella Di Maria)
Ok, maybe only in a purely virtual sense, but still. How sweet is Minnie up there? And look at those teensy candy canes on the tree, and the so-perfect-you'd-swear-it's-fabric bow! Makes me want to run off to the Magic Kingdom right now. (Have you seen the castle lights? Have you??)
Next stop: I Can Bearly Stand It Station.
(By Bubolinkata)
You can't handle the cute.
Followed by the world's coolest ice skating lesson:
(By McGreevy Cakes)
The icy pom-poms, the polka-dot bows, the birthday balloon... !! This makes me wish I had a winter birthday.
And now, the world's most adorable re-enactment of Atreyu riding Falcor the luck dragon:
(By Little Cherry Cake Company)
(Right? Right??)
Which reminds me: are you watching all your favorite Christmas movies this month? Like The Muppet Christmas Carol?
(By Maria Antoinetta Bice Amatiello)
And A Charlie Brown Christmas?
(By Nerdache Cakes)
(I want Snoopy's tree lights.)
I hear there's a new movie out that will get you in an appropriately icy-yet-festive spirit, too:
(By Sweet as Sugar Cakes)
Frozen! I've heard so many good things, can't wait to check it out. Of course, Olaf and Sven here look like they stepped right off the screen; so hard to believe they're cake!
Here's hoping these cakes filled you with cheer, my friends. Now, back to your regularly scheduled holiday bustle. Chop chop!

Jen, Jen, Jen... How can I get everything done in time for Christmas when you've turned me into a puddle of goo on the floor? (I've extended a pseudopod to type...)
These are FABULOUS. I think the first... no, the second... no the... All of them are my favorite. That's allowed, right?
Cannot handle the cute :D
The Charlie Brown Christmas Tree!!!! Squeee! Perfection!
Congrats on being featured on Graham Norton last night!
Snoopy and Disney. Sweet! And no, I haven't not seen the lights. :(
It was thrilling to be watching Graham Norton on BBC America and have Cake Wrecks come up! It's interesting to see what they choose to show when there are so many to choose from.
Jen!!! I couldn't believe it-- I was watching the Graham Norton show and he had a whole segment on Cakewrecks!!! Your site--- YES YOUR SITE- was on BBC America last night!!!! I actually got giddy! Congrats on the further international fame! :::tosses confetti (with sprinkles in it) :::
The "Bearly Stand It Train Station"!! D'AWWW
There is, of course, one true Christmas movie: We're No Angels, with Bogie and Ustinov. Must see.
So much cuteness! I need that polar bear made into a little bean bag plushie so he can lay on a shelf staring at me all day. Awww!
I CAN handle the cute...but just barely! I am continually amazed by the cakey talent out there, which I would never see if it weren't for Cake Wrecks Sunday Sweets! Thanks a million!
Congratulations, Graham Norton! You were smart enough to feature Cake Wrecks!
The glazed cake doughnut Christmas tree ...
:dies of teh kyoot:
Please, please, PLEASE tell me that one the reindeers on (the back of) cake two has a red nose!
Oh. My. GOSH! The penguin! I suddenly want this to be my little girl's 1st birthday cake because she was born January 10th! Squeeeeeeee! Oh...there I go...look, I'm a puddle of goo on the floor now!
Being a Grinch here, I know, but . . . if there is at least half as much sugarpaste on the cake board as there is cake, what's the point? That reindeer is indeed an awesome work of cakey engineering, but most of it is going to end up in the trash. Same with the two characters in the last picture.
The reindeer is by Kaysie Lackey. It's a class she teaches. Please give her credit.
Awesome. Seriously awesome. Just. Can't. Handle. It. I wish I had the skill and ability some of these creators carry in their little fingers!
Sweet indeed! Not only am I watching Muppet Christmas Carol *right now* but it's been my favorite movie since I saw it in the theater, Christmas '92.
The gravity defying reindeer was done in a class at our shop in Ontario Canada. Believe it or not there is a fair bit of cake in there. He'd actually feed quite a few people. He's got 2 - 9" square cakes and 2 - 5" rounds cakes in there. His entire body all the way up to the top of his neck is cake. And he's covered in a mix of modeling chocolate and fondant... so really tasty.
His legs essentially become the cake stand if you think of it that way. They're the support system for an amazing cake!
Great job Sabrina!!
I want plushies of all of these! But especially the bears! And that adorable penguin! Squee!
(@ khereva: Anything with Bogie is "must see" in my book!) Cakes: the Charlie Brown is adorable, his tree is perfect, and as for the fondant that probably never gets eaten: yeah-(yuck)-but it sure makes awfully CUTE inedibles! It wouldn't surprise me if some of the really spectacular stuff gets saved/preserved/"archived" like fine art collectibles, maybe even in climate-controlled environs, and only trotted out on anniversaries or whatnot. =^~.~^=
Well you live and learn, I never knew that Graham Norton was shown in America, being English I am surprised that it is, I am curious to know what you think of the show and how it compares to US chat shows.
PS What did you think of Mary Berry who has become famous here as one of the judges on the show 'The Great British Bake off' which has inspired a renewed interest in home baking in this country.
I love Sunday Cake Wrecks! This one is especially wonderful! Sends the Grinch packing!
DAWWWWWW!!!! The Muppet Christmas Carol cake is amazing.... I NEED that in my life!
Awesome work to all people that made these cakes you're all very talented, love the Frozen cake they really executed Disney's animated characters well. Whether the other reindeer cake was a class or not, the person who worked on it still needed the skills to execute it, it's doubtful that they all left at the same level.
My "d'awws" are right here, thank you very much! Nice little uber-cute break from the Christmas hustle and bustle. Thanks for making my day just a little bit (ok, a TON) cuter!
These cakes restore my faith in humanity. Or at least, cake-bakery.
Stephen,
We can get BBC on extended cable. I am addicted to the original episodes of Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. ;)
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!
I'd totally go for the ring o' reindeer on a mug and lovelovelove the little ice skate on the penguin!
These cakes are totally awesome! I love them all but Frozen takes the top spot for me! What amazing talent you all have!!
Faith in humanity (*specifically bakers) restored. It's a Christmas miracle.
We thank you very kindly for posting our sweet Remy the Reindeer cake. We had an amazing time with Kaysie Lackey and are already dreaming and sketching for another armature cake for Easter. Thank you to whomever submitted our cake, we truly appreciate it.
I DO have a winter birthday (in January) and I've NEVER had a cake as cute as that penguin!!! Honey.... are you listening? lol
